Just checked it out:
a) He doesn't sound like Staley, which is fine w me. I wish Lanegan would hook up with these guys. That would be great!
b) The vocals are overproduced IMO. Vintage AIC has raw vocals which was what we all loved. This guy could have a great voice, but we won't know becuase it's been completely sterilized. He definitely cannot translate the emotions Staley did, but then few could.
c) Glad Cantrell isn't singing as much. His voice sucks. Boggy Depot was horseshit.
d) A bit plodding, but it sounds pretty solid
e) As long as I don't compare it to old stuff, it's not a bad song IMO
We all have to accept the the days of Facelift/Sap/Dirt are gone and aren't coming back, but this can be good.
