Any suggestions on what to do to reduce the number of missed tackles my MLB is getting?

If you fail already, this will not make you better at it.
Since the bonus is multiplicative, if your chance is low this will not offer much of an increase.
If you don't have at least 3:1 (60 without equipment) strength and tackling as an MLB, I'd say that's your problem.
If you do, higher couldn't hurt.

How will it not make you better? I assume he is still making about 70% of his tackles which is pretty bad, but if he upgrades one peice like 5-6 times to +15% make tackle that will give him an additional 10.5% chance which increases his chance to make a tackle to 80.5%.

Edit I just checked and he's made 28 out of 34 tackles. 82%. So with 15% make tackle chance he could be looking at 94% instead. (Obviously it won't be exactly that high because of some of the backs he faces, but you are still looking at a huge improvement considering you are multiplying an already big chance.

its goin take a while to upgrade a piece 5 or 6 times

Not if he sells whatever he has and uses those bonus tokens. I guess it depends what he currently has for AE if anything.

just lookied at his equipment, he has no AEQ anyways so yeah its gonna take a while to get 5 or 6 levels up

No.
You have a misconception of the bonus is why.
You're imagining it's additive. As in, 10.5% plus 70%= 80.5%, it's not.
The math is multiplicative. Which means that if his chance to make a tackle is 70% (which is high and likely is not that high versus many backs but I'll play along) then a 10.5% addition would mean 70% becomes 77.35%
My point is that if his tackle chance is lower than that, let's assume something like 30% (probably too low but bear with me for the sake of proving a point) then the multiplicative addition of 10.5% chance to make a tackle on top of a pre-existant chance of 30% becomes 33.15%, not 40.5%. See the difference?

Um no. If you read my post you would know that I know it is multiplicative. If he had a 40% chance to make a tackle he'd have missed a hell of a lot more tackles than he has.

I must have misread your post then.
But I don't think there is some universal % to make a tackle on any guy. Obviously he has missed a few so on many types of builds his chance is low, whereas it's higher on other types of builds.

Well the main point is either way it will help him.

I don't think the chance would ever be that low with 62 strength/tackling. Lets just say he has a 50% chance against a pretty good power back. With +15% make tackle (a +3% piece upgraded only 5 times) he would now have a 57.5% chance to make a tackle. Meanwhile his 80% (estimated) chance against elusive backs etc. becomes 92% as I said.

Now he can also continue to improve his tackling by tripple capping his tackling, strength and agility. That would make the AE even better.

Apparently he has no AE right now though so its too late for him I guess.

that's what I was really trying to say. you need a solid core before the % increase really helps you

Thanks for you input. I have not been able to find anything good when looking for AE. I wish they would make the AE more specific to your position. Anyway, below is what I have for a build and I also have a +8 in sure tackler in VA.

Strength: Blocking:
62.39 20.57
Speed: Tackling:
91.14 61.38
Agility:
67.62
Vision:
63.32

NO it won't help unless he can make tackles in the first place. since he can't it won't help to add a % to an amount that can't do anything anyway.
