As the playoffs officially start tomorrow, I shortened my list in the power poll this week. There are 9 teams on here, with their Power Poll Rankings next to them. 8 of the teams made the playoffs, and 1 team that DIDN'T make the playoffs but would have if my Rankings were used to determine.
1) Reikjavek Aggies – 2nd seed in the playoffs, facing the #7 Oxford Eagles. Always a powerhouse, they have suffered 2 late losses to top 4 teams. The Eagles are good, and the Aggies have shown weaknesses, but They should continue on.
2) Houston Roughnecks – 1st seed team, facing the #8 Bari Barracudas. Loud and proud, this team has shown that they are, in fact, a couple good ol’ Cowboys. Facing a team that had a handful of starters leave shortly before going on the third longest active losing streak in the conference won’t hurt them, either.
3) Valencia Billy Goats – 3rd seed, facing the #6 Oslo Berserkers. Defending champs, they have NEVER overlooked an opponent, and this will be no different. A true fighting team, they have one of the best matchups in the playoffs this week against a monster.
4) Rohrheim Stampede – 4th seed, facing #5 Multiple Scorgasms. There has been no one who can stop them lately. A couple of wash teams at the end hurt their SoSch rankings, but make no mistake; everyone has one eye on these guys.
5) Multiple Scorgasms – 5th seed, facing #4 Stampede. A shocking loss late in the season hurt some of their momentum, but their defense has blanked 5 opponents this year and given up an average of 8 ˝ points per game all season. No team can win without scoring.
6) Oslo Berserkers – 6th seed, facing #3 Billy Goats. This team refuses to be told they hit a glass ceiling. If they can’t break into the top 5, then they will just have to make the Top 5 six Teams large. There is no quit in these guys, but can they take down the defending champs?
7) Oxford Eagles – 7th seed, facing #2 Aggies. Being an Iggles fan IRL, these guys have a place in my heart. No quit, always playing above their ability, if there is a Cinderella team, they are it… IF there is a Cinderella team.
8) Paris Musketeers – Out Of Playoffs. Taking 8th in our power poll does not get them into the playoffs, as they almost beat every tier 2 Pro team, but could never find a way to win against the Top 6. If you can’t compete with the best, you can’t expect to compete. But there is no shame in their season; the Musketeers have built a solid foundation for next season, and have time to make things work now.

11) Bari Barracudas – 8th seed, facing #1 Roughnecks. This team has taken monster hits; from a massive falling out in the Management Level to the loss of major starters mid-season to their painful final leg schedule, the Biting Fishies are now facing the Roughnecks, who snatched victory from their hands the last time they met. But that was before the Fishies 3 strikes. There are a lot of people who like the Biting Fishies, but not many expecting them to show fresh signs of life.
