Should it be 68 or 73 (before natural gains)?

If you want your guy to be an excellent kicker long term (in his 5th season and beyond), take it up to 78 (6:1 cap). If your goal is to be competitive sooner (say in the 3rd season), the 73 cap is fine.

A couple of follow-ups, then:
--Assuming I go to 6:1 (with the idea, as you said, of having an excellent long-term kicker), should confidence ultimately be at 73?
--I don't necessarily mind taking kicking up that high, but would not boosting result in a too incomplete/too imbalanced build if I go long-term?
Thanks for the advice so far. (Thanks also, rywagner, and go Hoosiers!)

First thing my K did was take K to 77, then confidence to 73. Take a look and decide for yourself if thats the route you want to go. I think its a great build so far and will peak about level 45. I also think strength is WAY overrated.

That sounds solid, especially considering your stats. Tbh, I could probably spare some flex to boost a few times and project my end-of 10th-season level into the early 50s. In that case, 77 kicking and 73 confidence makes sense.
And yeah, I definitely won't be going terribly high on strength.

have to agree with you there, at least, until the owner starts complaining about touchbacks
Ya i went with some strength to limit the opponents field position. Kicking FG's is nice and all but if you want to be a team kicker you will try and pin them deep.
Kickoffs are a key part to the game
