When the world is on your shoulder
Gotta straighten up your act and boogie down
If you can't hang with the feeling
Then there aint no room for you this part of town
'Cause were the party people night and day
Livin' crazy, that's the only way

So tonight, gotta leave that 9-to-5 up on the shelf
And just enjoy yourself
Come on and groove, let the madness in the music get to you
Life ain't so bad at all
If you live it Off The Wall...

The world lost a musical giant this week. Lifelong fan here; dude helped inspire me to become a musician back in the day.

Anyone else have good memories of the guy? Post them here and let's share. Positive stuff only, please - we can always leave the negative stuff in the other thread...

Musical genius and great performer...

I love watching and performing music (although I watch a lot better than I perform) and have been to hundreds of concerts, but my first was my folks taking me to the Jackson 5 Victory tour at Dodger Stadium in 1984 (or around then). Blew my mind, and I have been an avid concert goer ever since.

I think it was just his time to go. He couldn't be the performer he once was, and that was the only thing his life was about -- performing. I congratulate him for his achievements, and hope the only thing that lives on is his music, his videos, and his amazing dance skills. He had the best dance skills of anyone, ever. It was amazing how utterly perfect every detail of his movements were. I caught the video he did with Janet last night, this one here

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNl2Pm9-7Vk

you just watch him dancing with his sister, and while she does all the same moves, he puts her to shame.. @3:19.
Just a quick moment in that video but she seems to be going through the motions, while he's just perfect in every move he makes. 100% unique, that's what made him special. The kick, spin, collar pop from Billie Jean. The moonwalk. Watch him dance with the extras from the Thriller video, he makes them look like amateurs.

Y'all should be more worried about the Cap and Trade bullshit our government is passing in a few days.

I am way more worried about that tbh. Largest tax increase in the history of the Nation from the man who "will give 95% of Americans a tax cut" based on the biggest bs scam in history, global warming. We are passing regulations that will help cripple our economy while no other country in the world is taking these measures.

This guy is a fucking disaster.

Obama and the Democrats are doing everything in their power to kill American capitalism, with the energy act, the bail outs and now cap and trade, is it because they can't govern in a free society?

So you wanna be startin' something
Got to be startin' something
So you wanna be startin' something
Got to be startin something...

Perhaps we should take MJ's cue, revert back to the GOP's tactics and just and find another country to invade? I hear North Korea's available.

If Bush and the Republicans had taken all this stuff head-on instead of playing Don Quixote in the deserts of Iraq fending off windmills of mass destruction, we wouldn't have to deal with Obamanomics right now. That's the real disaster tbh...

This isn't a left or right, democrat or republican issue.

This is an American issue.

Both parties are controlled by the same people... the Council of Foreign Relations and the Tri-lateral Commission.

Bush was a disaster.
Obama is a disaster.

But they work for the same people.

the real disaster is the American Dream. For the last century we all wanted/encouraged/advertised bigger, faster, expensive as the american ideals. Get a big home. Drive a nice car. Spend money to have things to show off your self worth. The Media and the Advertising machines took these concepts and ran with them so Companies could sell products and pass out million dollar bonuses.

We routinely cough up 100+ million on a weekend at the movies. Or billions on sports tickets/products. Putting money into the hands of few, who in turn become role models for the masses that have little. We overspend, create debt, and dig a deep hole.

Meanwhile, towns and cities and nations of people are starving and/or plagued with war.

It's hard to blame a President, or a Company, when a large majority of the Population cares more about phoning in to American Idol than foreign policy.

Those are your words, not mine.

Study the CFR and Tri-lateral Commission. Look at their membership lists. Look at all of the people in our government that are members of these 2 groups and you'll understand who really runs our country.

Yeah I know Sulf... I've done some research on these things. It's just the guy who introduced me to them also believed that other stuff. Was wondering if it was just him, or if there some correlation between the various conspiracy theories, sort of it's own school of thought.
