The Massive PLAYOFF preview edition!!!!
It is time!!! Playoffs are here and all 16 playoff teams have dancing golden tropies in their heads. Lets see which 8 teams get to keep that dream alive and which 8 need to go home and work harder to get the hardware next season!!!

Western Conference first round

1. Huskers Illustrated Bugeaters VS 8. Possum Trot Plague
-After a week one loss the Bugeaters have turned on the afterburners and never looked back. This team has been the dominate force in the west since blowing a easy lose to the Universe. On offense they have the #1 spot in passing with 3109 yards thru the air for 26 TD's and 11 picks. If that wasnt impressive, they were also the leading rushing team for the west with 3898 yards for 50 TD's... yes 50 TD!. The defense not looking to be overshadowed did it's job in helping secure the #1 seed in the west. They let up only 741 yards on the ground and 2360 in the air with a total of 7 touchdowns ever entering their endzone. They terrorized QB's with 64 hurries and 7 sacks and making them pay with 17 interceptions for the season.

- With some luck and with some great played games down the stretch, the Possum Trot Plague sneaked passed everyones eyes to grab the 8th seed. They were counted out and good fortune smiled upon them. Now comes the the game of their lifetimes. If Vegas had put a spread on this game, it would be 21 points. Uphill battle doesnt start to decribe what the Plague will have to face. The Plagues offense is going into Memorial Stadium with the West's 11th ranked passing and 6th ranked rushing attacks. The defense for the Plague will have to step it up today. They rarely scared opposing qb, coming up with 16 Int's, 17 hurries and 1 sack and leaving the door to the endzone open for runningbacks. Letting up 21 rushing touchdowns. Main issue with the Plagues defense... 95 miss tackles. Wrap it up boys, or the the defense will gift wrap a win for the Bugeaters.

Bugeaters Win 33-9

4. Timpanogos Thunder VS 5. Tana River Ewoks
- The Thunder were having a up and down season till the pulled the team together in Week 6 to grab the 4th seed in the wests playoffs. Winning 9 out of 11 games with 1 tie and 1 loss. Two of the teams 4 losses came against the #1 and #2 seeded west teams. The Thunders offense hasnt made all that much noise in just one area of their offense. Their balance attack ranked them somewhere in the above average for the wests road. The passing attack, which put up 2661 yards for 12 td and 19 int's, is ranked 7th in the west while their rushing attack put in 2661 yards for 22 td's and a 5th rank. The thunder's defense is what helped grab this team the 4th overall seed. The defense let up 1197 rushing yards for 6 td's while only letting up 2508 yards for 9 td's.

- The Tana River Ewoks ride into The Thunderdome as the 5th seed in the west. The Ewoks had a Up and down season due to the fact they they had trouble vs the wests top teams. Losing to 3 of the top 4 seeds, which includes the Thunder 13-7 a few weeks back. The Ewoks offense is partly to blaim for this inconsistant play. They ended up ranked 4th in passing with 2818 yards, 16 TD's but 19 interceptions. Their rushing attack didnt fair much better with 1998 yards, 21 td's 16 fumbles and 3 of them ending up in the other teams hands, for a western rank of 9th. The Ewoks defense is a tad better then hit or miss. Giving up 2550 yards and 8 TD's thru the air and 1356 yards and 8 td's on the ground.

Thunder Win 27-21

2. Honolulu Beach Boys VS 7. Eugene SLUGs
- The Honolulu Beach Boys, Once part of everyones butt sex jokes, made all the laughter stop with a dominate 14 win season. Here is a team thats the average winning score in a game verse them was 29 - 6. A fluke loss to the Express lit a fire under their asses that sent them on a wave of fury that crushed everyone, but the #1 seed in the west. The Honolulu offensive line paved the way for the leagues #2 rushing attack to put up crazy rushing numbers of 3162 yards for 36 td's. The passing attack was also another reason why the Beach boys rushed so much. Sporting a below average passing attack of 2510 yards and 15 tds with 15 int's. These boys rather run thru you then hang ten over you. But dont let the mellow sounding name fool you cause on defense they are anything but. The ball hawking style of defense played in Honolulu lead them to a Western high of 27 interceptions with 37 hurries and 10 sacks.

- The Eugene Slugs creep into Hang Ten Stadium after inching their way into the #7 seed. The Slugs couldnt string together 3 wins all season long and that was their downfall, ending the regular season on a losing note. Luckly for the Slugs, the fight for the lower seeds in the west wasnt a hotly contested one. The Slugs carry with them a very vanilla and average offense. Ranking 12th in the pass and 8th in rushing, They need to figure something out quick to speed up that threat. Dont place all the blaim on the offense for the 7th seeding. The defense let up 2321 passing yards, 1850 rushing yards and had 91 missed tackles....

Beach Boys Win 30-3

3. Los Angeles Express VS 6. Houston Toxins
- The Los Angeles Express are a very well built team that had the shot at sealing the #2 seed in the west but fumbled at the chance to do so. Dont let the Express's balance attack fool you, they can do everything well. Teams try to take the run from them, they will beat you deep... focus on stoping the pass, they will pound the ball right into your gut. The only thing about this team that bothers me is the belief from the Gm's and owner about what they have on the field. They remind you of the 2006 Charges, Everyone wondering about the coaches. Some might say they have one of the most talented squads in the league... yet dont have that killer instinct. This team, if loosened and opened up could have been the #1 seed in the west. They dropped two games that they should have won vs the Ewoks and the Thunder. The Express even pushed the #1 seeded Bugeaters in a 10-14 loss. This team has the tools to do it, it just comes down to good coaching.

- The Houston Toxins was one of the hottest teams in the beginning of the season. They started off on fire and killed every team for a quick 5-0 record. Then the errors started. The team didnt focus on bring in Human talent and it cost them at the end of the season, going 1-5. The Toxins bring into Express Field a very below average team that is lucky to be in the playoffs. No offensive line to speak about, shoddy running game, a passing game that has no air and a defense that has more holes then swiss cheese. Dont expect great things today from the Toxins.

Express Win 37-10

Eastern Conference first round

1. Tecmo All Stars VS 8. Buffalo Chips
- The Tecmo All Stars From day 1 made sure that the #1 eastern seed was their's. They Signed everyone and anyone who was worth their spit. Bring in the most talent paid off instantly. They built a superstar offense, defense and special teams that paved the road for a 16-0 regular season record. Here is a team that averaged 49 points scored and let up only 3.6 points a game. This here is what dominance is. Tecmo is sporting the easts #1 passing and rushing attack while their defense give you a better chance to score on Jessica Alba then them. Will they go 20-0? the pressure mounts and time will tell.

- The Buffalo Chips sneaked their way quietly into the east #8 playoff spot only to have the glaring lights of the Tecmo Bowl to shine on them. Buffalo has had over the regular season more three game losing streaks then winning ones. With a all around average team i dont see the Chips lasting in the bowl longer then the first quarter. I wish i could write up more about your team, but you have to give me ammo to do so. Below average offense, below average defense and no drama to cause concern for a Tecmo loss here leaves this a very boring write up

Tecmo Win 55-0

4. Chocolate City Saints VS 5. Awesomeville Bearphins
- The Chocolate City Saints marched all season to a nasty beat that lead them to a 13-2-1 record. The Saints werent no where near the Aints when they got those 2 losses vs the #1 and #2 eastern seeded teams. So close were they to pulling out victories that could have gave them the #2 seed vs the Badgers and Brooklyn. The Saints are a very dangerous team on offense. They were ranked 3rd in passing with 3393 yards thru the air, 20 TD's and 12 Int's... and when they didnt pass, the #4 ranked rushing game put up 2507 yards and scored 27 times due to an oline that got 537 pancakes. led to by a strong defense, the Saints are ready to shed the label of #4 seed and looking to kick ass in the playoffs.

- Going to the somewhat fixed up Louisiana Superdome, The Awesomeville Bearphins put together one hell of a year to get to this point. Starting the season off with a loss help light a hunger in the Bearphins to a 11-5 record. Only issue with the Bearphins is who the won vs and lost to. They havent beaten a top 5 seeded eastern team all season long. Sure, they held some of those losts to really close matches that could have gone their way... but it didnt. That makes the difference between a playoff team and a championship team. When you have the Trippers, Tecmo, Badgers and Saints all by the throat, you have to extinguish them. Instead they lost those four games by a total of 19 points. But the Awesomeville Bearphins couldnt be happier about who they got in the first round. This game was played only 2 weeks ago with the Bearphins lossing 23-20 and they feel they could have and should have won it. Now is their shot.

Awesomeville Bearphins Win 27-24

2. Sconnie Badgers VS 7. New Jersey Blaze
- The Sconnie Badgers were the #2 dominate team in the east by far this season. Displaying a knack for blowing out teams they should have and winning the tight games against foes who were closer in talent, the Badgers showed the east that it wasnt a 1 horse race. Amazing enough, the Badgers did this while being one dimensional on offense. Badgers finished the season ranked #2 with a sick rushing attack that put up 3486 yards and 31 TD's with 18 fumbles. Forrest gump must be the OC cause they were running... leading the league in most rushing attempts. The passing game took a back seat to the rushing, coming up with the 10th ranking with 2546 passing yards, 17 TD and 11 picks. Even stronger then the rushing attack is the defense. The badgers go with the old adage that every great running game needs a equal and dominating defense to win. The Badger defense let up 2212 passing yards and am amazing 637 yards on the ground for only 5 touchdowns!!! Strong in every aspect, the Badgers look to go far in the playoffs.

- The New Jersey Blaze come to play for all the chips today at Randall Field. All season long the Blaze looked to be a top team in teh east. But actions speak loader then words. They won all the games they were supposed to except losing to each of the top 6 seeds in the east... an omen that doesnt bode well. But 3 of those losses vs the 4th, 5th and 6th seed teams were decided by less then 3 points. So there is some bite in this dog. The Blaze offense is rated pretty high, holding the 4th ranked passing attack with 3303 yards and 18 touchdowns. The 6th ranked rushing attack posted 2154 rushing yards with 22 TD's. Only issue is that they will need all three parts of a football team today. The Blaze defense isnt half bad only letting up 1228 rushing yard for 11 td and 2396 passing yards with 9 TD's... the issues on defense that has to worry them vs the dominate Badgers rushing attack is the 122 miss tackles all season long. In week 9, the Blaze held a tough game vs the Badgers and lost 20 to 6. They will have to do alot more to win today.

Sconnie Badgers Win 27-10

3. Brooklyn Legacy VS 6. New Orleans Night Trippers
- Brooklyn Legacy was one of the preseason favorites to compete for the #1 seed in the east and somewhat lived up to that but falling short and getting the 3rd seed. Losing early and badly in the season to the #1 and #2 seeded Tecmo and badgers made the Legacy rethink and retool. A few internal issues and a few changes in personal, the Legacy took the backseat and slowly mounted win after win to try and avenged themselves. In that time the Legacy put up some very nice numbers. Ranked 3rd in the east in rushing with 3050 yards with 13 TD's and a passing game that is ranked 8th with 2826 and 14 TD's. The Legacy real strength and what got them the 3rd seed is their defense. Only allowing other teams 923 rushing yards for 4 TD's and 2928 yards and 12 TD's... but that is only half the story. The Legacy's mainstay is terrorizing QB's. They have the leagues leading amount of hurries with 84 and lead the league in sacks with 23 and round off with 22 interceptions, scoring once. So here they are at the moment they wanted to be only to face a team that gave them a very hard time in the regular season. The Legacy will need all phases of offense, defense and special teams to show up today for this tough first round game.

- The New Orleans Night Trippers come to Legacy Field today for the first round playoff game. The Trippers are on a mini losing streak that shows how tough this team is. Losing to the easts #2 seed and to the wests #1 seed by a total of 15 points is very impressive. Coming in with a 10-6 record the Trippers only lost that is in question is to a non playoff team. Other then that hiccup they won verse who they should have and battled hard in the games they lost. Rounding up a 7th ranked passing attack and rushing attack. Their defense wraps up well with very few mistackles and gets pressure on the QB. Considering the Week 12 game they had with the Legacy, they have just as much a shot to winning this game as teh Legacy does. What this game will come down to is will the Trippers be able to sustain drives with the rushing game they have vs the Legacy defense? Will the Trippers be able to continue passing the ball like they have all season long. Well guys... we shall see!

Brooklyn Legacy win 17-10

Looks like some good work, but shouldn't this be in the BBB 12 subforum?
