Week 2 opponent: Singapore Marauders (W)
Reason: A lot of people like the Marauders as the #1 team right now, but my pick has to be ESL after week 1. Crazy first part of the season for ESL, but I think they come away with this week 2 matchup against the Marauders.
2. Singapore Marauders 1-0
Week 2 Opponent: East St. Louis Tire Fires (L)
Reason: They seemed to have a tough start against the Flames, but once they got going, it was the Marauders we all know. I don't think they can afford a tough start against ESL, so this one should be interesting to watch. Either way I am not happy to get them in week 3....
3. Bandar Lampung Pigskin Pirates 1-0
Week 2 opponent: Winona Warriors (W)
Reason: I am not sure about their week 1 contest. I thought they would absolutely blast Laos, but it is possible the Pongers have beefed up a tiny bit in order to make themselves at least respectable against a tough BLPP team. Either way, this team is good and I still believe them to be the class of the league. Should be a good beat down of Winona in week 2.
4. Pa Dong Dragons 1-0
Week 2 Opponent: Tongduchon Cowboys (W)
Reason: I can only go off talent at this point...as their first game was against some Chai Garuda team...meh...possibly won't learn much from them against the Cowboys either. Should learn a lot from them in weeks 3 and 4 when they face some real talent in Krungthep and ESL.
5. Cambodia Mountain Men 1-0
Week 2 Opponent: Okinawa Leathernecks (W)
Reason: I actually wanted to put them at #4, but felt I had to give Pa Dong the benefit until proven wrong. But week 1 was a nice Season 10 debut for the Mountain Men as they pimp smacked Hong Kong United. I have to give them the nod over Okinawa this week.
6. Singapore Buddhist 0-1
Week 2 Opponent: Krungthep Garudas (W)
Reason: This team has the talent, but do they have the defense to keep the other talented teams down? Impressed I am about the talent they brought in...not impressed am I about the way they are playing ball thus far. Should rebound against Krungthep, but if not, it could start getting ugly for this part of the Singapore triad.
7. Okinawa Leathernecks 1-0
Week 2 Opponent: Cambodia Mountain Men (L)
Reason: I felt they should have dominated WIW a little better last week, but they still showed well on both sides of the ball either way. I think the Mountain Men might bring a little bit different kind of beast than the Weak Warriors, so its hard to go with the Leathernecks in this one.
8. Duluth Bulldogs 1-0
Week 2 Opponent: Surabaya Poison Dart Frogs (W)
Reason: Only other team to show much of anything in week 1. But I am not sure the Metalheads were much to brag about. The Dart Frogs didn't fair well against the Rampage in week 1, so it is hard to think they will do much better here. Duluth doesn't want to overlook anyone, but their eyes are certainly looking ahead to their week 3 annual beatdown against Singapore Maruaders.
9. Krungthep Garudas 0-1
Week 2 Opponent: Singapore Buddhist (L)
Reason: Faced easily the class of Garuda in week 1. The league knows Krungthep can bring it, so I am not sure if one can base a lot off the beating they took against LSP, but Krungthep really needs to pull it together against the Buddhist here in week 2.
10. Winona Warriors 1-0
Week 2 Opponent: Bandar Lampung Pigskin Pirates (L)
Reason: I know a lot has been made about this team finding relegation, but they aren't bad. I think this might be the best noob in Naga this season at the very least. Probably won't find prosperity against the Pirates this week, but not a team I would want to completely overlook.
11. Anchorage Northern Lights 0-1
Week 2 Opponent: Rangoon Flying Tigers (W)
Reason: Northern Lights have to still be a somewhat good team you would think. I think Manila has really become a decent team and this first week loss to them might have just been a statement game for Manila...but 7 points either way is stinky. Should be a huge rebound against Rangoon this week.
12. Venuatu Headhunters 0-1
Week 2 Opponent: Quahog Drunken Clams (W)
Reason: The Dragons are a tough week 1 team to play. I feel this team should rebound against the Drunken Clams tho. They will need to or will start putting it in full gear to make the playoffs.
13. Tongduchon Cowboys 0-1
Week 2 Opponent: Pa Dong Dragons (L)
Reason: 3 Kingdom Hawaii is certainly not a pushover, but that loss is really going to hurt their push for the playoffs. Not going to be easy to rebound against Pa Dong, but need to pull off some upsets now to keep in the race.
14. Quahog Drunken Clams 0-1
Week 2 Opponent: Venuatu Headhunters (L)
Reason: Tough first week against Bangkok, but this is the time to rebound right here. A loss here could mean the difference between playoff contender or packing it in for the season imo.
15. Surabaya Poison Dart Frogs 0-1
Week 2 Opponent: Duluth Bulldogs (L)
Reason: 17 point loss to Buffalo doesn't look good for the Dart Frogs. It is tough to rate the noob teams thus far, but I have to give them the bottom feeder of the noobs after week 1. They get a first hand chance to impress me in week 2 tho.
16. Rangoon Flying Tigers 0-1
Week 2 Opponent: Anchorage Northern Lights (L)
Reason: I don't even know what to say about their week 1. I think Sumatra is a great team and all, but that was just all sorts of embarrassing for the Tigers.
