It sounds like it was Rx meds he got busted with....my guess is take some asprin, dump it in an Rx container and call it oxycotin. Think, "fraud" for drug dealers.

from everything i've heard all the drugs in question for his case have been prescription drugs that have been unlawfully obtained, some of which were from his burglary charge.

I think the moral of the story is don't draft Pac-10 QB's in the first round.

Ryan Leaf, Todd Marinovich, Joey Harrington, Matt Leinart ....

Dan Fouts -- drafted in the 3rd round which occurs sometimes after the 1st round. Dan Fouts career, while impressive, has nothing to do with 1st round Pac-10 QB's.

Aaron Rodgers -- impressive 6-10 record as a starter.

John Elway -- In the 1983 NFL Draft, Elway was selected as the first overall pick by the Baltimore Colts. Elway had, by then, played two summers of minor league baseball for the New York Yankees organization. Additionally, Elway had publicly stated that he refused to join the Colts organization, feeling the team could not allow him to be successful. If they did not trade him he said he was going to play baseball. Eventually, Colts owner Robert Irsay gave in.

Elway never played a down for the team that drafted him. In fact the Colts were brutally raped in the trade where they gave away Elway. Again -- don't draft a Pac-10 QB in the first round.

Troy Aikman -- beneficiary of fantastic talent in Dallas. His 165 TD to 141 INT ratio is far less than stellar and his career 81.6 passer rating would have placed him firmly at #21 last season among NFL QB's.

Drew Bledsoe -- what a stud in the post-season. 129/252 that's completing over 51% of your passes. 6 touchdowns against only 12 interceptions?! A 54.9 QB rating in the post-season? This is the guy you want leading the team.

In fairness to Bledsoe, he did muster 251 regular season TD's against only 206 INT's and his 77.1 career QB rating is certainly nothing to scoff at .... after all it is slightly better than Jamarcus Russell.

Carson Palmer -- I think Palmer is an outstanding QB ... seriously. His knee injury ruined his only shot in the playoffs thus far in his career. If he had a better supporting cast, I believe most folks would consider him one of the top 3-4 QB's in the NFL right now.

Of course we've still got the undisputed draft busts in Leaf, Marinovich, Harrington, Leinart, and Akili Smith.
