Simple question... which would you rather have for a FS?

My FS is going to be a coverage safety while my SS is a pound'em safety so they compliment each other. The Closing Speed piece will get to +4 and then I do not plan on putting any SP's into that tree. In order to make it +5, it will cost me 6 skill points... to make it +6, it will cost 8 skill points. +7 will cost 12 skill points and +8 would cost 15 skill points.

Super Vision will help enhance my FS as I plan on putting points into that tree as he grows.

So, which piece would be better?

For an AEQ, Closing Speed, without a doubt.

What?!?! you were just saying the other day, that you didn't think Closing speed was any good.

Now you're saying it's better than super vision?

Not what he said at all. For an AEQ piece, he likes Closing Speed better because it saves you SPs from having to upgrade the entire tree to get to just that one SA that you want in the tree, whereas you would already be upgrading the coverage tree. Reading comprehension ftw.

This.

Diminishing returns for SAs over 10 and the relative ease of raising SV for a FS (and the other useful SAs along the way) make Closing Speed the better choice for an AEQ piece. Add in the fact, as pink panther pointed out, that all the SAs leading up to Closing Speed are virtually useless for a FS, and it's p much a no-brainer.

And I didn't say Closing Speed was no good, just that it was in a terrible spot and not worth the SP investment to get there.

I agree with Asheme, as much as it pains me.

Closing Speed is pretty sweet, so if you can get AEQ for it, I'd take it. Plus the whole SP issue already mentioned.

CS AEQ gives +5 in the end, so if you take CS to 2 or 4 natural, you're done with it.

1-1-1-1-2 (8 SPs) or 1-1-1-2-4 (15 SPs) - pretty cheap for high CS and only 2/3 SPs "wasted" on hard hitting SAs.

SV is easily available on the other tree, for SA Swat Ball is useful and should be at 4/5 anyway. So no SPs "wasted" there.

Everyone always brings up diminishing returns w/ SA's above 10.... but the fact is, an SA at 14 is better than an SA at 10. Depending on where it is in the tree (something like Change Direction/Quick Cut) it may be a decent idea to take it above 10.

I have Closing Speed at 9 right now (3 natural) thanks to rolling 2 pieces with +Closing Speed (both at 3). I have Big Hit at 2 so at some point I'll put another pt into Closing Speed bringing it to 14 in the end. Smart? I dont know.. Diminishing returns and all, 14>10 even if 14 only equals the relative value of 11.5. And the FS always seems to be away from the ball (runs to the right, most passes to the right).
