I'm slow building a pass rush DT. He is only level 1 atm. However, I was wondering the affect of setting his style to pass, with the penalty to reading rushing plays. Is the penalty huge, or nominal? Also, for a pass rusher is it even necessary to set the toggle to pass, or should I leave it in the middle?

I think I have yet to set my DT to balanced or run, tbh. Pass rusher DTs are nearly always set to pass. The only exception perhaps would be when going up against a prolific run team I suppose. You'll still stuffs a lot of runs while set on pass. It's not a "huge" penalty.
On the pass coverage, how often are you going to be dropping back into coverage? Maybe never. (Of course I have seen this IRL, but not in GLB yet.) You can ignore it.

My level 53 DT has quite a few sack and hurry awards and has never been on balanced or pass tactic.
Personally, I am not sure it really matters what your DT setting is.

The focus tactic has a lot less importance than it did in seasons 1-3. It is much more important at lower levels.

I stand corrected. Thanks.
