What position is he really? OLB? MLB? How do I improve his play? Etc. Just opinions, facts needed...

Honestly, IMO your options are still open. Speed is king regardless of position. I'd definately train up strength too.

If you train speed you could play ROLB as a majority of plays will go to the offensive right (your left) and speed will be needed to pursue the ball carrier
Train up speed and strength and you could play middle and left.
Generally the LOLB is the best overall LB on the team. He needs to be strong enough to take on pulling linemen and fast / agile enough to cover TEs and HBs running pass routes.
Fortunately for you your guy is the only human LB on the squad. I suspect the owner put you at LOLB because you will see the most action at that position.
