My linebacker (being built as a MLB/ILB (starting RILB in the 3-4 currently) just hit level 25 . . . and I have no clue which VA's to go with.

Any help?

Sure tackler, field general, power tackler, helmet crash

Depends on where he plays also and how hes used. I use my LOLB in coverage most of the time. Either against the TE or HB. So I say invest in SA's like a Defensive Back if your used in this way. Otherwise go the route mentioned above.

Does anyone use brick wall? I used it last season but I have noticed that the HBs dont get as many yards after the hit with or without it now. Just wondering if anyone was planning on using that this season.

Just curious, Clutch sounds like it would be good for linebackers. It apparently is not, why?

Disregard. Found thread. My bad.

Had up to 10 in it last season. Did notice HBs not going though him but that might be more of the power HB nerf than anything. Thinking about getting rid of it. Hence me searching the LBer forum for a good alternative

I have a LILB in a 3-4 system
On pass plays he has to cover the HB or TE
On running plays, he has to stop rushes to the inside or anything to the ROT direction

Would you recommend "Ball Hawk" or "Helmet Crash"
I already invested 15 VAs into power tackler

Depends on your position. LOLB ball hawk is worth it. Sure tackler is always a good route if you know your player is lower levels than the teams you are playing and you seem to miss tackles. use va's to fit your teams needs too. I am trying out the power tackler this season so dont have an opinion of it yet, but have ball hawk and have seen a difference with it.

I'm not a fan of power tackler or jackhammer. My MLB had a combination of 15 power tackler/15 jackhammer/65 strength/70 tackling/10 Monster Hit, and didn't cause a fumble in last 6 games.(while tactics were on power tackling style). I did miss a few tackles though Maybe it worked with lowering morale, etc,... Just can't measure that stuff.

emboldened part is the explanation.
while mlb can go for FFs it's probably better to go for a sure tackle unless you outlevel your opponent. most people going up the middle in my experience are high carrying, high strength, using break tackle %aeq and bruiser, you likely won't pop the ball out of their hands.
my $.o2

I'm with you. I think sure tackler should be #1 for a MLB...
