showing you build will get you better and more accurate responses

As a SS you should be prodominantly tackling and strength a SS is someone who is going to crush people. Speed agility and sure tackles are for FS if i was building a SS then i would use big hit and strength.

Tackling is more important than strength for SS, eventually you will have to get strength to 48 but in the mean time I'd train strength/jumping on intense.

My s.s. disagrees. 70 str 48 tackling. Actually just capped tackling last season. Plays on power tackling every game.

Str is great for a S.S. much better, and more dynamic than tackling.

This quote... is retarded. You'll never catch that reciever with 100 speed if you build your SS like this says.

SPEEDSPEEDSPEEDAGILITYSPEEDSPEEDSPEED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Speed and agility are king in this game. 1st cap tackling EVENTUALLY down the road (that's waaaaay too much stength and SP's wasted on a level 25 there). Aim to get past the 68 cap on both speed and agility as THESE ARE YOU PRIORITIES ASAP!!! 1st cap (48) strength and tackling down the road by level 35-ish and then never touch them again as you work on speed and agility (while also training stamina, jumping, and vision extensively). By level 45, look for speed AT LEAST over 90, agility around 70, 60 vision, 40 jumping, 40's in stamina, 48 strength, 48 tackling, and mid-20's in catching. Focus mostly on speed, agility, and vision while still pitching in to the others like jumping, strength, and agility. Hope this helps

That is certainly a decent formula for a coverage SS. But SS can be built in many ways. I notice that your SS hasn't forced a fumble in three seasons. Meanwhile, UD (who posts above about having 70 strength)'s safety forced 28 fumbles AND still had three times as many PDs as yours in that same time frame. He makes a very good case for strength.

No he is right My S.S's speed and agility are up there. It's just that rather than spending a lot of vision. I sort of sacrificed it for more str.

His formula is pretty right on the mark. I would suggest 61-68 str rather than 48.

I did however cap my S.S. str first. But I don't recommend it. Since he could have even more fast and agile then he is now.

I would get speed and agility to 68. Then go from there.

Hard hitters would go str to 48 after then vision to 48, then back to str till 61.

Where as coverage guys I guess want to go to 68 vision immediately.

They don't throw my way often (explains PD's), and most of the time our DL, LB's, or the CB in coverage get the tackle before me because we play almost exclusively cover 2. So, considering that I don't think my stats are too damn bad (I'm back there as a safety net, not a playmaker mixing it up close to the line of scrimmage).

Also, I messed up my VA's, but my attribute formula is spot on for a balanced SS. The natural boosts from leveling up can make that 48 strength go up into the 50s without having to waste so much on strength to get it to 68 manually.

Sorry about the "retarded" comment (didn't get my late night coffee in, i know, weird...). I agree that strength is important, but Speed and agility should always be the priority, then followed by strength, vision, and jumping.

Strength helps in so many ways for a Safety.

IMO, I would get Strength to 48 whenever feasible, without jeopardizing Speed & Agility.
Start picking up Sure Tackle VAs to compensate for lower Tackling skill.
When you get to levels near 50 you will need 60+ Strength to keep up.
