OK it's down to two.
3. Monmouth Evil Monkeys V 5. ***Official*** Footballguys. Down Early 13-0 and than 20-7 the Evil Monkeys stepped up big time and took the Western Conference title for the 3rd time in the last 4 seasons. Monmouth scored 2 huge TDs in the last 2:00 of the first half to take a 1 point Half time lead. A Bomb from Drago to Jubas was quickly followed up by a pick 6 from Keiaho. The Evil Monkeys followed up the impresive end to the 2nd with a huge 3rd quarter where the outgained WW, 209-25 and outscored them 17-0. Both Defenses tightend in the 4th and the Monkeys walked away with a 22 point win.
The Monkeys O was solid and balanced after the rough start. Drago was on the mark completing 62% of his passes and E.D. was rushing for 158 on 20 carries and 2 TD's. The Evil Monkeys D crushed the WW passing game, with 2 picks and they had 4 sacks 3 by Merlin. George Street had a good day running the ball, but it wasn't enough to offset the passing games short comings.
OFG used an explosive offensive effort, some opportunistic Defensive play and an impresive final quarter and a half to win an exciting game with The Shockers. Outscoring Cincy 24-6 over the final 21+ minutes OFG pulled away for the win to get them to the title game.
While Hulk Blazing was shut down for the most part, the rest of the Footballguys many weapons stepped up. Big Shirley punished The Shockers breaking 25 tackles on the way to a 147 yard 2 TD game. The QB combo threw for nearly 350, with 9 different players catching pases in a very balanced attack. Defensively they managed to control the passing attack of The Shockers and picked off 3 passes. Combine this with 2 fumble recoveries (one by ST one by the D) and the 5 total turnovers caused were huge.
The Title game should be a real test of both teams coordinators. Monmouth needs to figure out a way to stop the always dangerous Blazing on the outside while controlling Big Shirley up the gut. Mix in the fact that OFG can throw the ball deep and this is going to take a hell of an effort by Jdros. OFG has an equally difficult task of controlling the two headed beast running game of LC and E.D. with a nice dose of Cooter thrown in for good measure. Once they work that out the need to focus on the hot hand of Drago and the Monmouth stable of WR's. Both secondaries will be tested by the pass as well as in run support.
Evil Monkeys win 45-37
