So, in the 1st round Alpha saw defending champion Graz, 2nd seed Paris DB, upstart WWW lose and WEPL stalwart E-Cty all lose. We're left with a quartet of teams that recently came to WEPL from WEAAA1 Alpha (three of which came this season).

1 - FootballForum Fighting Danes 15-2 http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1885
vs
4 - Portland Rage 14-3 http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=263

Previous meeting: S9G2 FFFD won 41-31 http://goallineblitz.com/game/game.pl?game_id=475782

Outlook: Complete toss-up. FFFD haven't been the blowout type, but they have the intangibles (Per). Portland is more explosive and loves turnovers (+25) on the season compared to (+4) for FFFD. I think that's exactly what it's going to come down to, FFFD's special teams vs Portland's defensive playmakers. I give the slight edge to Portland and like their chances of avenging their G2 loss and advancing to the Alpha final.

========================================

3 - Bonn Dynamo 14-3 http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=637
vs
7 - Greenwood Alley Cat 11-6 http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=636

Previous Meeting: S9G16 Bonn won 37-27 http://goallineblitz.com/game/game.pl?game_id=475831

Outlook: Most of the matchups point to Bonn's favor in one way or another. Like Portland, Bonn is an opportunistic defense with a +30 turnover differential compared to Greenwood's +0. Bonn also has one of the top rated Offenses and defenses in the league. As mentioned in the last playoff roundup Bonn is really on a roll at the moment so it would be hard to pick against them, but Greenwood is definitely no slouch. The only team to truly beat Bonn by any significant margin this season was PDB and Greenwood has handled them twice now. Edge still goes to Bonn though I would think.

========================================

And to take a page out of corey's Zeta preview, here is how the 4 finalists stack up:

Final Four Teams.........................Record vs Each Other.................PF/PA
Bonn...............................................................3-0.....................................125-81
FFFD...............................................................2-1.......................................95-94
Portland..........................................................1-2.....................................116-125
Greenwood....................................................0-3.......................................86-122

Nice write up, everything is complied nicely and is easy on the eyes. gj

It would be interesting to see an all AAA1 conference championship. So I'm pulling for Greenwood. Bonn just may be too much too handle though. Bonn has been playing better then anyone since the early season slow start and has been even better in scrimmages vs top teams. Hard to imagine them losing right now to anyone left. The Dreamboats who maybe had the best shot, fell victim to Bluetooth. Does Harold Bluetooth have enough magic left in that blue tooth of his to pound out another win vs a top team. We'll see.

As far as Portland vs the Danes. I think you hit it right on. Can we slow down Per Gonzalez, who is maybe as dominant at his position as JJ is at his. A few interceptions and short fields will tremendously help Portlands cause. In the end I think Portland needs a few breaks to go their way to pull this one out. I hope we can get them.

You hit the nail on the head Wrath...it's turnovers. You guys get the most turnovers not because you're the luckiest team in the league, you just have flat out play makers on that defense. What makes that the most dangerous is your offense just doesn't turn the ball over. If we can stay even in the turnover battle I think we will atleast have a chance in the 4th quarter and that's all anyone can ask for when playing a team the caliber of Bonn.

I also thought we will have a legitmate shot at Bonn but they just destroyed us. Iīm going with Bonn in that one, since we canīt defend our title any more I want at least to say that we lost against the champion.

Go Bonn.

Well it looks like AAA#1 playoffs except the only year we were there , we won Alpha

I believe all this team know exactly how to slow donw Harald , we were the best opportunity for GAC to win their 1st round .
As a former AA#2 team i'm rooting for FFFD , but Bonn will be my favourite it's time for them to get a trophy .

It's no secret that we're a long shot to beat Bonn. We're probably the biggest long shot of any team left to win in the second round...luckily for us, in these sims anything can happen.

So true. Bonn has a terrible history of losing playoff games.

Yes, but we have a wonderful history of early playoff success and better yet, we've improved from one season to the next every single season and now that we're in the top league the ceiling is set.

Lastly, Turin and PDB are out of the way

Bah, I've been talking out of my arse and you guys give us too much credit. We're beatable. I just think a lot of the teams we scrimmage out of league don't see us coming. Whereas in-league people try harder for each game.

Well, if we do lose it won't be due to lack of trying that's for sure. You're going to get our best, and if that's not good enough so be it.

I also think the Portland vs. FFFD will come down to ST's vs. TO's. I will predict whichever team scores more of (FFFD on ST's vs. Portland on Def. TD's) will win this game. I expect this to come down to the last possession, and honestly I hope our D will be on the field hoping to hold them...

The last one was close. By no means are we taking you guys lightly. Can't overlook anybody in this league. Looking forward to watching both these contests....our gameplan is set.
