Ok now the fun starts. The long regular season is over and now it's GO TIME.
1. Washington Wolfpack V 8 Chicago Hedgehogs. The Pack bounced back from their Week 15 loss to the Roughnecks with a solid win over SBS. Washington ran the ball almost exclusively in an effort to avoid KL INTs The plan work as the won the turnover battle 3-1.
The Hogs stumble into the playoffs on a miserable 7 game losing streak. The Hog's lost to 6 of the 7 other playoff teams (the only win a 4 point squeaker over Texas) and also dropped games to 2 10+ loss teams. Dropping the finale by 14 to a BSB team that hadn't done anything all season was the icing on a epic collapse.
When these two squads met in the regular season Washington totally dominated in their 65-6 victory. The Outagined Chicago by 390 yards and caused 4 turnovers on the day. Don't look for this game to be much different
WW wins 77-10
2. Honolulu Hurricane Warriors V 7. Minnesota Marauders. HHW is one of the hottest teams in GLB right now. Their D look great in their win over Monmouth, holding the high powered Monkey O to 10 Points. While they didn't light the world on fire offensively they did enough to pull off a solid W.
Turnovers killed the Marauders in their season ending Loss to the Roughnecks. Their 2nd straight L dropped Minnesota down to the 7 seed in the West. While the Marauders were able to control THE TICK, they weren't able to control their QBs desire to throw the ball to the wrong team.
The Warriors hung on for a close win over the Marauders earlier this season. Stuart Wang Out-dueled Krist in the air and the HHW D picked up 3 big turnovers. After HHW dominated the first half Minnesota made it close with a late rally but fell short.
HHW wins 31-21
3. Monmouth Evil Monkeys V 6. Compton Vikings. The Evil Monkeys O looked stagnant in dropping their finale to the Hurricane Warriors. Their usually dependable ground attack was held in check and they couldn't get anything going in the air. Considering they were on the field all game long their D was solid.
Compton finished out with Spicewood so there really isn't much to talk about when you play a CPU.
The Evil Monkeys won a close sloppy game the first time these two played. Compton picked off 3 passes to stay in the game (can you say ball knocked loose INT) and picked up a fumble. The Monkeys D was dominate holding the Vikings to 217 total yards.
Evil Monkeys win 38-20
4. San Diego Lightning V 5 Texas Roughnecks. The Lighting put on a scoring clinic in their season ending game over LVF. Picking up TD's on runs, passes, Int returns and fumble returns. An all around solid effort by a team that seems to be coming together at the right time of the season.
The Rougnecks showed their versatility on offense in their win over the Marauders. With the Tick slowed (NOT STOPPED) the went to their air and it proved successful. Defensively they picked off 4 passes to keep their O on the field as much as possible.
In their First meeting this year San Diego won a 38-34 shootout. Texas scored with 7 minutes to go and than the Lightning went on a drive that would end the game and preserve the 4 point win.
Texas wins 42-40
