Forum > Position Talk > LB Club > What position does my LB fit best after this year?

I'm making him high strength and tackling at the moment. I want him to be a hard hitter and run stopper. I'm considering going heavy on the confidence and vision and getting him the defense general SA, also. With a high strength and tackling, and middling speed and agility, would he be any good at the MLB position, though?

I admit, I've got very little experience with LB's in general. I guess I'm wondering what position a run stopping LB fits into best, and if it's even worth it to go after the defense general SA.

Sure you can make a middle linebacker out of him. Just be sure to keep his speed high. Even though he plays middle "he won't need as much speed" so they say. But you have quite a few responsibilities to tend to so high speed is a must there too.

Don't bother with the confidence so much, don't put SPs into it anyway.

When "they" (ie, me) say that you "don't need as much speed as a MLB", that means you only need 70-80 speed, rather than 95-100. Not that any LB needs 100 speed imo.

Depends on what kind of linebacker you're going for. I wouldn't add any points after the 5th Cap, but, one can never have enough speed.

MLB Run stopper needs:

Speed = 65+
Agility, Strength = 60+
Tackling = 55+
Vision = 50+
Stamina, Jumping ~ 40+
Confidence, Catching train to ~30's

SA
Defensive General
Monster Hit
Diving Tackle
Swat Ball

You have to realize a run stopping MLB has to be the most balanced person in your defense as they have plenty of responsibilities, this means you cant focus too much on 1 or 2 stats or you begin to neglect others at which point you become specialized.

Well I wasn't really referring to you as much. I am use to seeing middle linebackers with like 60 everything. speed agility str tackling. vision. Im just like wtf?

Well, I want him to be somewhat specialized, so maybe MLB isn't the position for him. That's what I'm trying to find out. No matter what, he's going to be a hard hitter. High strength and tackling. I'm just wondering what position that fits best into, usually.

MLB if you're going for high strength and tackling. I would add agility to that list as well.
