Hi guys,

I just thought I would let you know that this will be the last season for the Gamblers. With the World Series of Poker about to start and knowing that I'm going to be extremely busy for the next two months, this is the best time for me to "quit cold turkey" so to speak.

I've found myself neglecting other more important areas of my life, including what I do for a living and my girlfriend, in order to spend time on GLB. I've been mulling this over recently and while I love the game very much, the truth of the matter is it's costing me money in that I'm not playing poker or writing as much as I should be because I'm here, and it's also had a negative impact on my relationship as I've escaped to GLB rather than spend time with my girlfriend. I have a bit of an addictive personality and GLB fed so many of the things I love (competition and football primarily). The more I thought about it, the more I thought how silly it was... that I was letting a game take precedence over things that I love like my work and my girl. Many people would keep their team and just try and cut back on the time they spend here, but I know how I am and I know that I'm much too competitive a person.

So with that, the Gamblers will bid the USAPL adieu. I'm happy that we were able to accomplish my ultimate goal when I first started playing this game in winning the title. After that happened, I really started taking on too much with the Bugs Mod, gming multiple teams, in addition to running the Gamblers and doing all AI for them and wayyyyyy too many scrimmages and tournaments that I've honestly ran out of energy for. The players/agents on the Gamblers are some of the best in the game, and you'd do your team well to have them join your organization.

I'm still going to be a proud member of GLB, will be on a couple hours a day (as opposed to the 10+ I am currently spending) and will continue to run my casual league team (since that's pretty easy and simple to do) and help out on the test server when I have time. I'll probably keep about 1/2 the players I currently own and retire the other 1/2. I'm not sure which players yet though, I'll decide that at the end of the season and post the appropriate recruiting message then.

Still love the game, but not enough to jeopardize the things that matter most to me.

Hazy

P.S. I'm still going to try like hell to win the USAPL title so don't think you'll be getting any easy games from me.

Do whatever's best for you. Gamblers have always been a great team (ever since the Aces-Gamblers rivalry ).

Sad to see it end.

Sad to see the Gamblers go, but very happy that you will stay around GLB Hazy as you are a true resource to the game, even with your hours here significantly cut back.

Totally understand Hazy. I've cut back on a lot this season. I made this difficult decision with the Heroes back in season 6. The Gamblers are one of the great teams in all of GLB history, and your work here (on day 40) is done.

I'm the same way with addictive gaming. Started cutting back myself this season. I was amazed you had the ability to do all you did and still find time for work and something resembling rl.

Best of luck the rest of the season with the Gamblers.

Congrats on accomplishing your goals, Hazy...And for going out on top. For what little it's worth, I really wish you wouldn't do this, but I can 180% understand. I'm in much the same situation as you. The only few differences are that I can mainly do my job whenever I want (WSP most likely won't hold the table until you get in a GP) and I set a rule that nights and weekend belong to the family. So, except for stealing an hr on sat & sun mornings, unless the wife is working and the kids are doing something else, I'm not here. That's helped, but even then it's a balance that gets a little messed up at times.

Hazy promised us Gamblers a Pro title some time back. It took us a while to get there but he got us there.

I understand completely Hazy. I have decided that my 3 month old daughter takes precedence over GLB and am also cutting back. Good luck with things
