Unfortunately the USA Pro Ranking committee is very active any more. Here is one man's opinion on the state of USA Pro.

1) Green Bay Maulers - Can anybody stop this team? They very well could be on their way to 16-0.

2) Monmouth Evil Monkeys - With Cinci losing another game, Monmouth takes #2 easily. 10 game win streak in USA Pro West...damn. Next 5 games would be a challenge for anyone not named MEM. They could very well go 5-0.

3) Las Vegas Gamblers - The defending USA Pro, and world Champs are starting to get into their groove...6 wins in a row. Their defense has kept the opposition under 10 in 6 games this season...and that's without the CCCC game.

4) Washington Wolfpack - With their win over the Vaqueros, they pick up 5 in a row. With their remaining schedule, I see them hosting at least one playoff game.

5) Cincinnati Shockers - They did lose their last game in a weird one with OFG....12 total turnovers. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, with their only other loss to GBM.

6) Compton Vikings - Who woulda thought right? I've known the guys from Compton since season 2, and they know how to run a team. Congrats to them on a hell of a season so far. The long awaited matchup with the Monkeys is up next followed by a relatively easy schedule. I see them getting at least 3 of their last 4.

7) ***Official*** Footballguys - These rankings become a clusterfuck after the first 6. A looooot of great teams out there. Never count Duff and his footballguys out, they've won 3 in a row (lolzoo), with their most recent over a powerhouse in the Cincinnati Shockers. 8-3 is 6th place in the East? Jesus Christ.

8) Honolulu Hurricane Warriors - Won 4 in a row since their loss at the hands of the Wolfpack. The only standout win in those is a 34-31 win over the Marauders. The wangs seem to be flying under the radar as of late, but I doubt anyone is overlooking them.

9) San Diego Lightning - 5 wins in a row with a standout 1-point win against the Lincoln Navs. They have 3 tough games in a row with very big playoff implications.

10) Minnesota Marauders - Just lost pretty convincingly to the Navs. Other than that, they have been great this season, only losing their other 2 games by a total of 4 points. Their final 3 games will determine where they are in the playoff bracket.

11) Alpine Golfers - May be a little too high, but only time will tell. Alpine looked like a premier team in the East until their last 2 games. NWA tripled them up, and Washington nearly doubled them up. They still have yet to play OFG, OTR, Cincy, and LVG.

12) Chicago Hedgehogs - Much like Alpine, but in the West, Hedgehogs have played a relatively easy schedule so far...which is still tough as nails in USA Pro. Check out these next 5 games. SDL, WW, Marauders, HHW, and BSB will have a chance to play spoiler. Hedgehogs will have to claw their way through that to get a playoff berth.

13) Indianapolis Gurupies - This once powerhouse team in USA AAA2 is flying under the radar in USA Pro, but they are taking care of business winning 7 of their last 8. They will most likely see the postseason.

14) Over the Rhine Red Dots - The dots are walking on thin ice at 7-4. They lost their last 2 (kzoo doesnt count), and they have a tough 5-game stretch coming up. SI better figure things out on offense, or OTR can find themselves on the outside looking in come playoff time.

15) Northwest Arkansas Naturals - Outperforming preseason expectations, the Nats find themselves at 7-4 and in the last playoff spot in the East. They have found a way to win close games with 6 of their wins being by less than 10. Recently it has caught up to them losing 3 of their last 4, but the 1 win was a very impressive one over Alpine. They will need to be more consistent if they want to make a playoff run.

16) Texas Roughnecks - lawdawg and crew have had a great inaugural season here in USA Pro. They came up with something to prove, having felt they deserved to be promoted the season before. This time with the Tick as the main threat in their backfield, they're not feeling the loss of Earl Campbell. They need to take all their games seriously from here on out if they want to stay in playoff contention.

17) Washington Bullets - Great win over Alpine to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Bullets need to string some wins together as they haven't had consecutive wins since the beginning of May. Consistency is the key here, and they will need to find some soon.

18) Lincoln Navigators - 4-7 over a 6-5 team you may ask? Richey has 2 wins over gutted teams, and I honestly think Lincoln would take the head to head game between them. (insert obligatory "best 4-7 team in GLB comment"). With that out of the way, new acquisition John Robert accumulated 212 total yards last game, and the Navs look like they're back in business. They need almost a miracle to make the playoffs, but anything is possible.

19) Richey Royals - Great team in their own right they have gotten some very key wins recently over the Hammer, DDL, and the Woodys. They look like they're turning things around, but still have some pretty tough games left.

20) Parma Burglars - Improved from last season? Yes. Is it enough though? They already picked up the same amount of Ws as last season, but can they build on that? RUN HARD and crew also find themselves in an uphill battle to make the playoffs.

21) Las Vegas Freebirds - Very nice win over the Chicago Hedgehogs...too bad it was followed up by a trip to Monmouth. The Freebirds have played a lot of other teams very closely this season, and their D looks like their strong point. They also have an outside chance of making the playoffs, but they have to go through some pretty tough teams to do so.

22) South Bay Spartans - Larry Smith and the Spartans are struggling this season to say the least. After their gimme win against Spicewood next week, they have 4 tough games, and I see them losing at least 3.

23) Detroit Demon Lions - Losing 6 games in a row can't be good for morale. DDL has been quiet this year, as it looks like the Demon Lions have had their best days in the past. With their last loss being by a 106 point margin at the hand of the Maulers, things are only getting uglier for them.

24) Carolina Hammer - Started the season off great. How many (real) games have they won since then? 0. 7 losses in a row and counting. The Hammer better win out or they should start thinking about next season already.

25) Pittsburgh Steel - Lost 8 of their last 9. With all those GMs, someone should put their heads together and do something about it if they don't want their team fading into oblivion.

26) Bourbon Street Bullies - BSB, a previous perennial playoff team, finds themselves at 2-9 right now with only 1 real win. They are lucky the Vaqueros and gutted Longhorns are in the conference, or else they'd be fighting for their spot in USA Pro.

27) Columbus Woodys - Not quite having the season they had last year. Their most recent loss was only by 3 to the Royals, which some would say is a "moral" victory, but a loss is a loss, and they can't be feeling good about themselves. It doesn't help they still have to play GBM next, but they have 2 gutted teams yet to play.

28) NY-CA - Still looking for that win.

29) Dallas Vaqueros - See: NY-CA. Is this the year Dallas goes down? The Relegation Bowl will happen week 15.

30-32) CPU

Hmmm, I'm only wondering if LVF or LN are the best 4-7 imo. Hard to judge who is better here, after all, Lincoln has better reputation, but LVF has been playing close games since the start, so I suppose they deserve some more recognition. That's just my opinion tho.

the big win this week doesnt surprise me for Lincoln. They are far, far better then the record indicates. A lot of close losses, they are all just lining up against them this season.

very true. they're defense has always been tough but it took them awhile to adjust their offense imo

Excellent job Sik. Appreciate you taking the time. Gurupies are justly ranked imo. Glad we have moved to the middle of the pack

The big difference this year over the past 2 was our retarded ass turning the ball over like we were playing hot potato. I havent tried to compile any numbers but we have to be cloes to leading the league in int+fumbles minus cpu teams/complete bottom of the ladder teams.

It was the Maulers. But the more pertinent question is: will DDL announce that they are gutting, or will it be one of those silent ones that smells particularly bad?
