We see receivers dropping balls sometimes.

The question is: when a CB goes through the rolling process to determine if they intercept a ball, do we ever see if we dropped the pass or does it progress straight to the deflection roll and neglect the missed catch?

Sometimes I wonder if we even know if we dropped balls and if Carrying would help in some cases.

I think CBs can have balls knocked loose like WR's can.

It actually says that my WR deflected the ball, not knocked it loose. However, I don't see why him deflecting it would be of any significance unless the CB was going to have an INT chance.

yes they do. There were several plays back in my CB's early seasons that he had a clear catch attempt that just fell before him softly as though it was a deflection. Not as much clear proof as the link above... but unlike most deflections it didn't "bounce" very far from his person. Also the CB wasn't moving on the play to lead me to believe he held position to intercept the ball.

i believe so as well... a while back (since i started pumping points into clutch) my CB started attempting jump catch and diving catch... i posted it earlier, but others thought it was the WR attempting these... so believe what you want

based on this i believe there is also a catch roll... i'm pretty sure my CB attempted jump catch... but his catching is low so he muffed it... at which point it gave him a deflection "pass deflected by... "
