How necessary is it? Anyone have a kicker or punter with very very low strength that's very successful?

The number 2 and 3 distance punters in USPro (around 48 yards/punt) have less than 53 points in strength with a lot of punts. That's not very low, but still low given the levels they are. Of course the top punter in USPro (49.7 yards/punt) is high in strength, so not sure what all that means.

Someone posted a ~32 punter with a gold bar who had no strength from even training, and he'd missed all his 50+ yarders and a couple 40+. He was 14/24 on FGs. Take that how you will...

...as punters not being very good at making FGs?

Its GLB, its the way it goes, right?
FTR, I'm a fan of strength in punters. I've got a slowbuild now where I'm taking it to 75 currently (already took punting there). We'll see how it goes.

Verde 's kicker was just razzed on the forums but is quite good with hardly any strength. http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=970242
My kicker OTOH needed str to start hitting 40+ yard FGs. It's hard to say and seems to vary by build. I've seen both good and bad punters/kickers with high strength. I think the main key is to not focus on anything besides punting/kicking and confidence too early.

His stats don't look that great to me: lots of trouble at 40+ yards.

obv just a slowbuild who is saving strength for last, which isn't a bad idea at all.

Agreed (though I would probably improve STR before AGL). The issue was that Puma was holding this K up as an example of a successful build with no STR. My point was that I wouldn't call that record from beyond 40 successful.
Maybe he will be in the future, but not right now.

Strength and Agility get the same auto-gains each level, so really the order you do them is irrelevant, though strength has less useful training pairs on intense, so imo it's best to save it until last so you can train it normal and look for AE.

Do you plan to have a K with the same AGL and STR? Usually, you want STR higher than AGL, so it makes sense to train AGL while putting SP into STR.

Define successful. I was trying to show that str is not as important as is commonly thought, and that kickers can be successful without str. Again, successful being a relative term here. To me, 9/11 last season from 40-49 and 6/10 this season IS successful. It's not perfect, but it's successful.
