I think your're talking about Tuffy Beefwich.
As far as my own list... if I had to choose (without being biased and using Tecmo players) it would look something like this:
#1: QB Awesome Lee (Awesomeville Bearphins) - What can I say this guy is awesome. I mean really... who on earth wouldn't want this guy on their squad? Averaging a solid 228 yards per game with a 64.9 completion percentage, Awesome Lee has become one of the stand-out quarterbacks in the league. In his toughest game of the season against Tecmo, Lee still managed to keep the score close and ended the game with a 71% completion rating. His play has solidified the Bearphins as true contenders in the East since then, their only losses coming from the best the conference has to offer.
*Special shout out to the Awesomeville O-line for making it happen and helping their QB make my list.
#2 DE Juan Gotti (Brooklyn Legacy) - There are great DE's, and then there's Juan. Although he leads the league in both sacks and hurries, he also has returned an interception 42 yards for a TD. I believe his stand out performance came during week 9 in a shut out win against the Ole Miss Rebels. During that game he managed 3 sacks, 6 tackles, and 2 tackles for loss. Although Brooklyn has a soild D with some key players, none can dispute the power, pressure, and presence Juan Gotti brings to this team and an opposing offense.
#3. TE Bonington McFly (Scoonie Badgers) - This TE has established himself as a very important piece of the Scoonie offense. While he may lead the league in recieving yards, he is very versatile and also plays a big role in Scoonie's ground game. McFly definately stepped it up in a very tough game 5 vs. the Saints of Chocolate City. He lead the team with receptions that game and helped keep those offensive drives alive. In the end McFly's outstanding play helped Scoonie to edge out the Saints by a score of 9-6.
#4. CB Fast Break (Honolulu Beach Boys) - Break has been a versatile part of the Honolulu game plan all season. While he has proven himself as a reliable kick/punt returner, he has also shown that he is a very effective CB, leading the Western Conference in interceptions with 7 picks. In their toughest game of the year versus the Huskers Illustrated Bug Eaters, Break still came away with a respectable 5 tackles and an interception that he returned for a whopping 80 yards!
#5. HB Money James (Huskers Illustrated Bugeaters) - It doesn't get any better than this in the West folks. James has absolutely dominated the competition in his conference with a #1 ranking for rush yards and #2 ranking in rushing TD. In his 13 games played so far this season, James is averaging over 100 yards rushing. In a blowout victory over the Montana Crow, James humiliated the defense by rushing for over 200 yards, broke 10 tackles, and found the endzone 6 times!
Disclaimer: I know 3 of these guys aren't the leaders in their positions, but this is my top 5 so HA!

I definitely agree with Money James of the Huskers. That guy destroyed us and was the guy who ran down Fast Break on the INT return. Btw, Fast Break hasn't started a single game and I don't think he has had more than 40 plays in a game anymore than 1 or 2 times.
I'd give an honorable mention to our Center Roy Brown. He has played very well for us.
