I've seen worse...Get carrying and speed to the 68 cap (in that order), possibly take strength to the next cap and put some points into those abilities in a couple (10) levels...The longer you wait to pump those the better. As long as you can stand your power back being mediocre.

Wouldn't retire him, I'd just 68-cap strength and speed, and then start adding to SAs. I'm not sold on 3rd capped carrying being much better than 2nd capped carrying, I've played around with equipment and one of the worst balances I had was with 70 carrying. SAs get you more bang for your buck at that point IMO.

his strength before gear is 73.81 natural so its past the 68 cap

Just keep training vision/stamina/confidence while you're raising these attributes. I think your HB is salvagable, and he could be very good. He's only level 31 and you haven't really screwed him up, he's just not ideal.

...I still say stamina...

I thought Bort implemented some sort of stamina killer the more you carry? If he hasn't already, he will in the next offseason, so yes.. stamina

Putting SP in stamina is one of the worst things you can do for any build. The only thing worse would be putting SP in kicking for a WR, etc.

he's not bad at all. i wouldn't retire him. get speed & carrying to the 3/1, but if you want him to perform better right now, start pumping those powerback SAs ... u might want to consider putting a little EQ into speed too.

Hell no! He's pretty good for level 31.

Here is what I would suggest based on what I see:

SPs
1. Hard-cap Speed (if the natural gains don't do it already by level 32)
2. Hard-cap Agility
3. 3rd cap Speed
4. 3rd cap Carrying or 3rd cap Agility (I'm not convinced the difference between 62 and 68 in carrying is nearly as big as the difference between 52 and 61 in Agility or 61 to 68 in Speed; a bigger issue is just getting past the D-line and into the secondary, where breaking tackles really comes into play. You'll never continually break through tackles from NTs and MLBs, but if you can get just enough separation, that strength will really come in handy.)
5. Do whichever you skipped over at #4
5. Powerback SAs (Lower the Shoulder, Stiff Arm, Power Thru)
6. If you get to this point and you're wondering what to do, you could probably get some use out of at least "SA soft-capping" First Step and Quick Cut.

Training:
1. Vision/Catching - Vision is pretty self-explanatory. Catching will also help with bringing down all those drops. After a while, over 1 drop per game really adds up a decent chunk of yardage (nearly 200 yards, based on your average yards per catch last season).
2. Stamina/Jumping - Stamina could use a few levels for obvious reasons. Plus, jumping will help bring down the number of drops you have (nearly half of the 42 balls thrown your way last season).
3. Confidence/Vision and/or Confidence/Stamina

This . . . from an SP-efficiency standpoint it kills your build.

Uh, no.
As long as you have over 30-33 stamina it will not kill your build to spend points there.
In fact, any time you distribute to a (useful) attribute in the range of 33-48 those are the most efficient SP you can distribute into your build mathematically speaking.

I'm not condoning taking your stamina higher fyi, just pointing out the fallacy in this logic.

I think what he was getting at was not efficiency in terms of SPs used but in terms of practical results. After all, the marginal return per SP of getting 3-4 stamina levels (before the 1st cap obviously) is much less than getting even a single level of agility when you're in the range of 68-73. This is *especially* true when you take into account the amount of training required to do the same exact thing.
