is 199 the lowest it can go for a SS? and does it really affect how hard you hit?

i don't know the lowest for a S.S. I am always looking for 225. And yes it really does.
You could be a cover two guy only and get your weight lower so you "accelerate faster."

Bort said somewhere that there was a bit of a relation between weight and strength/accel. With height something like jumping and then missing more tackles being taller. Or maybe it was a bort stakler.
Probably doesn't mean all that much though considering Larry Csonka is one of the best powerbacks in the game and he's one of the smallest/lightest backs you can roll

This is purely hypothetical based on a very small sampling.. but for some reason, the very best defenders (S LB) I've had and have played with have always been about 6'0 200 lbs.
The fast guys are usually like 6'4 180, the hard hitters are like 6'0 220... the middle ground seems to work well in a very limited sampling. I wouldn't even mention it, it's just that this came up before with some other guy when I was discussing height/weight and we both agreed our best guys have been that range. There's probably nothing to it.

That scientist needs to find a new profession then.
