WEPL Power Rankings
By: Miladmaaan

One Liners

-And there's the Danes ticket to the top. Graz is going downhill too..
-The Philharmonic are no longer winless. Sadly they are still winless against real teams..
-The Boats beat the THUNDER in a defensive faceoff. I love games like that. (My 4 players are all defense )
-Looks like Perkis is going to escape relegation. Sorry for doubting you guys.. Next step is to escape the cellar tier. Good luck with that one.
-The top 3 teams in the standings in alpha are the three promotions from AAA#1 Alpha. How about that.
-ATOIAF continues to drop games.. I take back what I said about them rebounding. This is too big a hole.
-Cardiff turned out to be a pretender. Ouch.. So much for getting the most votes in WEPL in the pro rankings. Shows how much they really know up there, eh?
- (7-2) on my predictions this week! Finally a winning record
-Pimps. We're da hoes..

Alpha Predictions
By: LRats

Last Week: 6-2
Overall: 32-15-1

Footballforum Fighting Danes (5-0) at. West Wales Warriors (2-3)
Footballforum put all doubters to rest last week with a huge near shutout victory over the Graz Grizzlies. The Danes will continue their campaign against the WWW. The Warriors have gotten into a pattern of lose a game win a game, and if that pattern holds then they will get the upset over the Danes. However, I expect the Danes to break that pattern in this one. The Danes are on fire so far this season, and I can't see the Warriors cooling them down. Unless of course West Wales are Samurai Warriors, because if you watch TV you'll know that they beat Vikings!
prediction: The Danes win this one by a fair margin, 45-27

Portland Rage (4-1) at. London Monarchs (0-5)
The Monarchs have yet to win a game this season, and their outlook isn't good in this game either. Portland has been strong so far this season, and has only lost to the Danes, who stand in front of them in the rankings. London is going to have to play perfect ball if they want to turn the tables on the Rage. The Rage Defense has gone insane so far, and is picking off balls left and right. I think the Rage are going to continue that against the Monarchs. If London wants to win, their QB can't turn the ball over and he is going to need a high completion percentage for them to have a chance. I just don't see it happening. Chalk this one up to the Rage.
prediction: Rage continue to roll against London.

Bonn Dynamo (3-2) vs. Team Perkis (2-3)
Bonn absolutely crushed the Wrecking Crew last week 86-3, and they are now firing on all cylinders. Perkis had a nice win over the fading Commandos, and are now facing a monster of a team in the Bonn Dynamo. Perkis is going to find themselves way overmatched in this game. After seeing what Bonn did last week Perkis will be lucky to score a point against the Dynamo. This one is going to be pretty ugly, and Bonn will continue to climb after their 4th straight victory.
prediction: Bonn lets the good times roll, 74-10

Paris Dream Bolts (3-2) at. Belfast Commandos (2-3)
After starting off 2-0, Belfast has lost three straight games, and finds themselves near the bottom of the league. In the other corner, Paris has been the opposite of West Wales. Instead of lose a game win a game, they are win a game lose a game. Like West Wales, they too will break the pattern. Belfast is just looking weaker and weaker as the games pass, and like West Wales, I don't see them winning. Paris will get their first winning streak of the season as they Bolt through the Commandos.
prediction: Bolts win, 44-17

Turin THUNDER (3-2) vs. Hattgenstein Volunteers (3-2)
Both of these teams are coming off of loses, and are hovering near the bottom of the playoff ladder. Turin is holding on to the 7th seed, and Hattgenstein is on the outside looking in. This could be a pivotal game for both of these franchises this season. I think Turin is a little better of a team, and they should win it in a close game. I don't see either of these teams scoring much in this game, and Turin will be involved in another defensive struggle. This should be a good game to watch, and Turin will win by a FG in the 4th quarter.
prediction: Turin wins a close battle 17-14

Aberdeen Wrecking Crew (3-2) at. Woodridge Lumberjacks (0-5)
Aberdeen was embarrassed by Bonn last week, and is clutching to the 8th seed in the playoffs. Fortunately, they are playing a Lumberjack team that isn't going to accomplish anything this season...or seasons to come for that matter. Aberdeen will be looking to return the favor given to them by Bonn. Woodridge will remain on the bottom of the league after getting trounced by the Aberdeen Wrecking Crew.
prediction: Aberdeen wins 55-7

Graz Grizzlies (2-2-1) vs. Paris Philharmonic (1-4)
Paris got their first win of the season, scoring 121 points. Too bad it was against Woodridge, and means next to nothing. Graz has also been struggling, as a team that came in with a 20 game winning streak now finds themselves on a 2 game slide. Paris is the perfect team to bounce back on. Besides last game they have looked absolutely lost out there on the field. Graz needs to find their winning ways, and I think they will do just that in this game.
predictions: Graz wins 44-3

GAME OF THE WEEK!!!

Greenwood Alley Cat (4-1) vs. E-City Mercenaries (3-1-1)
Greenwood is in 3rd place, making the top three consist of teams that were promoted from AAA1 last season. This feature matchup has them playing the E-City Mercenaries, the team that broke Graz's winning streak. This game should hopefully be a close one, as E-City will look to break AAA1's dominance. However, I think that Greenwood will come out on top. Bluetooth is still a force to be reckoned with, and I'm not sure that E-City will be able to handle him. Greenwood's defense will also come up big when they need to, shutting down the Mercenaries offense. This should still be a good game, but Greenwood will come out on top.
prediction: Greenwood Strikes again, 32-27

Zeta Predictions
By: Coreyls18

Overall: 11-13
Last Week: 4-4

Matchup: Paris Musketeers vs. Inverness Highlanders
Prediction: Musketeers - Highlanders would really like to get some revenge on Paris from what happened last season but they will have to wait until another time...

Matchup: Cardiff Bluebirds vs. Korb Destroyers
Prediction: Korb - Bluebirds looked bad last week, and i dont expect them to turn it back around just yet, korb wins.

Matchup: Edinburgh Black Knights vs. London Hitmen
Prediction: Knights - just a hunch..

Matchup: Antwerp Annihilators vs. Berlin Ballers
Prediction: Ballers - cause i said

Matchup: Rivals Mainboard Pimps vs. Stockholm Meatballs
Prediction: Meatballs - Pimps will cum up short but look nice doing it

Matchup: Madrid Raging Bulls vs. Normandy Invasion
Prediction: Invasion - Bulls still look ugly...move to 0-6

Matchup: A Team of Ice and Fire vs. Lyon Dynasty
Prediction: Dynasty - Dynasty should roll through this one

Matchup: Grass Root Divots vs. Black Forest Mercenaries
Prediction: BFM - I guess i need to pick them every now and then...

Interview with maxxMisery GM of the Hattgenstein Volunteers
By: Jayadamo

I am here with MaxxMisery who is a GM for the Hattgenstein Volunteers and also rumored to be my Multi. Maxx is one of the many agents that has kept the fun in GLB going for me so I thought I would give the rest of you a chance to get to know him a bit.

1. Tell us a bit about yourself.

I'm 28 and married with two kids. I don't know how I've managed to hang on to my wife with the amount of time I spend on GLB associating with you bastards. I am a police officer that is currently on paid leave due to an accident on the job a few months ago.

2. How long have you been playing GLB?

I was one of the guys that was late to the party, as I didn't start until the middle of season 2.

3. How long have you been a part of the Hattgenstein Volunteers?

Season 3, Day 0. I had a little level 1 WR by the name of Ace Codrocket and was looking for a team to put him on just to keep him out of the D-Leagues. I had no idea it would turn into a GM role with a great successful team and a ride all the way to the Pro League.

4. Were you surprised to see Hattgenstein make it to the Pro Leagues?

Not so much surprised as I was relieved. It seems like we just floated in the A league for about 36 years before we finally began the quick journey to the top. I knew from day 1 that we would be here one day, as we have one of the best groups of loyal and active agents in GLB (imo)

5. Do you believe the Vols will miss the Post season for the first time ever?

Not a chance. Of course I'm not calling #1 seed or even guaranteeing a home playoff game, but I really think we have what it takes to beat a few of these teams and work our way into the playoffs. This season is a learning experience, by allowing us to get a feel for how the Pros work. Most of the agents on this team have not had Pro experience, so we're just taking advantage of the practice of playing against superior teams. It will make us a great team soon, and I think we'll be contenders in the next season or 2.

6. You are also the owner of the Revolutionary United Front in Africa AA1. How are things going there right now?

Things are going great again. After my accident, it was tough to keep the team together and competitive. Fortunately, I had the Vols on my side and with the help of all of their loyal agents, the RUF was able to stick it out. We are now kind of in a "re-building" phase just looking to add depth to make a run for Africa Pro in the next few seasons.

CHEAP PLUG ALERT - If any of you fine WEPL agents have any players available and would like to help contact me or Jayadamo!

7. Who do you see as the team to beat in WEPL?

It may be a tired cliche, but to be the best you have to beat the best. I'm still going to hold Graz up as the best team in this league. It looks like there are a few really great teams that have a chance to win it all this year (Danes, Rage, Alley Cat, among others) but Graz has the Gold right now.

8. Are you still 7%?

meh, it depends on how much I've been drinking. It ranges from 5% to about 38% or so.

9. Should I bring back the post game team showers under one showerhead tradition?

Two gay questions in a row? I already said I was married.......

10. Anything else you would like to add before we go?

I would just like to say that I'm honored to be a part of the BEST pro league in this game WEPL. You always hear so much about how USA or Canada Pro is the holy grail in this game, but I would say that neither of those leagues have the talent that WEPL does. With so many great teams here, a Gold trophy is something to be proud of.

Thanks for your time now get back to work!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the interview Jay.

Only reason I'm quoting this is because I'm hoping it fires up Grazz, since we've already played them!
