Warrior General Games

Even though the numbers say it's so, I believe Boston is better than the 7th ranked team. They gave Beer Town all they could handle today.

As I've been mentioning in the USA A#2 thread, I'm working on a new ranking system to allow more emphasis on the recent games, but I just don't have it done yet.

Since lots of teams have improved over the course of the season, their being penalized in my rankings for sucking at the beginning of the season and putting up crappy numbers. Likewise, teams that found more success early in the season, but have fallen on harder times lately have inflated stats, keeping them higher in the rankings right now.

I'm working on fixing it, but until then, even I consider my rankings to be less useful than they were earlier in the season.

I do think they're still worth some small level of enjoyment though...so here you go.

Regardless of how I disagree with your stats (and even you say that you disagree to an extent also) I do appreciate you doing this every week, at the least its something to start discussions...although some are less tasteful than others, haha.

My only qualm with the power rankings is that they've become a bit stagnant. Perhaps there is a way to not only weight strength of opponent but also emphasize perhaps the statistics of the most recent X number of games to cause more shake up.
This proposal could potentially result in a ton of work and is not reasonable for one to be wasting their time on. I don't really know. Just wanted to throw it out there for a little bit more intrigue to be pumped into the rankings game by game.

Well, as shown by the Boston DrunkN'Disorderly rankings, the numbers are thrown off a lot by how you play. If you have 1 player per position, and they're good, you'll rank higher than if you have, and play, two people for that position. However, playing 2 people gives you far better depth... just because the numbers are off doesn't mean you're not equally ranked.
