Warrior General Games

OK I usually don't get on the soap box about issues with the game but PT and RJ quitting has put me over the top. These are two really good guys (on the internet) that enjoy this game and have tried to make it better. Both of them bailing mid-season should be a wake up call to Bort that he has Major freaking issues with his Business.

Personally I still find the game fun-is it flawed? Hell yeah. Do I get frustred by some of the in the quirks in the sim? Hell yeah.

BUT, I think it can be fixed. We have listed our major concerns with the game in the thread started by Hazy on this forum. I would think that one of the MANY, MANY, MANY Mods in here could let Bort know about this thread if they haven't already.

This may be Naive, but this is league with the Most Experienced GLB players in it. We are the guys that have been here since the beginning. Hell I'm a Noob compared to most of the Alpha crowd in here. Bort should be looking to this group for suggestions not the vocal band of MALcontents that proliferate the main boards with the rhetoric. Bort needs to make some serious moves to fix whats broke in this game or it's going to go to hell very quickly.

The good news is it's salvageable. If he would just react to the issues at hand, this thing could go on for long time. He has a solid community already involved in the game, BUT we need to see some real effort to solve the problems that are out there.

Coachviking, i disagree that USAPL should be given any preference over other leagues in terms of suggestions and that Bort should "come here" for suggestions.

Other people in other leagues are also customers of this game and should have a voice. I understand that a noob may not know shit, but they may still have some decent suggestions.

That being said, I believe that SAPL and many other leagues (pro or not) would agree with many of the things suggested in the other thread started by Hazy. No reason for Bort to give more weighting to this league relative to others though. Sure I know everyone will post "we've got the best owner, GM, player, etc..." but that is just more of USAPL's superiority complex.

he should just stop with the major overhauls and tweak little by little

the major overhauls fix one thing but break 2 different things

Already posted it for Bort to see - once I compile the list (going to give it another day or so), I'll put it together and submit it for him to review. Again, doesn't mean anything will happen but at least it's worth a shot.

And fwiw, there are people telling me that the people complaining in USA Pro are the vocal minority and that most people are pleased with the game. I love the game and am going to continue playing it and doing everything I can for it, but to say that it's the vocal minority complaining is ludicrous imo.

Ok you Bastard maybe he does not need to listen to Usa Pro but he sure as hell needs to listen to some one. I must not have made it clear enogh that the USA Pro opinions are not perfect but they sure as hell are better than what ever advice Bort is taking at this point in time

Here's the problems with GLB..it has nothing to do with Nerfs or Builds. We all bitch about it, but the ONLY fun part of GLB at this point is building players and trying to find the latest exploit before Bort nerfs it..then you move onto the next. That's ALL the entertainment this game holds right now.

Here's the problem

1) Costs waaaay too much
2) AI is too time consuming to set up and maintain
3) The sim is too buggy to justify most people continuing to do 1&2 for an extended period of time
4) Bort changes the rules constantly


There comes a time when people weigh the value of their own time vs. the reward they get from a hobby. This hobby gives very little back in comparison to what it requires. The sim hasn't made significant improvements from where it was at a year ago when we started. It's become more complex and there are a few cute bells and whistles now, but is the sim any funner now to watch then it was in season 2? About the same...but the time required to run a team has increased 50 fold.

If you expect someone to spend $100 every 40 days maintaining a stable of players and 2-3 hours gameplanning and stuff every other day...you need to have a consistent and FAIR product. This product is buggy and all users don't have the same opportunity with the sim as others (see test server).

You think this is a contraction...you wait until season 11-12 when season 1 players bounce and teams that don't have a farm system and don't wanna recruit 30 players go CPU. I'll bet you by season 15 GLB will be down to about 1/2 the leagues it has now.

ahhh and see, this is why ultimately our opinions don't matter.

Ultimately, the 'general player base' far outnumbers the 'owner/coordinator base'. If you took a poll of the global player base, they prob do love things as they are. Because they don't see the mechanics behind the game. They just see their player perform, maybe just look at a stat line.

However, the owner/coordinator base, especially at the Global Pro and USA AAA level, I dare say would have a rather different opinion. But it's a smaller user base, so...
