OK…Since the ranking committee won’t be doing a ranking until after week 4, you guys are stuck with one more from me. Even though 2 games are in, I honestly don’t pretend that these are very accurate yet. I’ve always thought it unfair how some teams get hosed by their 1st round games, and most of us are still learning the PDC, as well as how our players respond to this ssn’s sim. Sorrys to those teams that I have underrated (and I’m sure there are a decent # of them) and your welcomes to those I’ve overrated. With all that said, here’s my thoughts:
Las Vegas Gamblers: Not only do they deserve this spot, they’ve looked very good thus far.
Green Bay Maulers: I honestly hate putting us here, but I feel currently that I have no choice. A brutal 3 game stretch will prove one way or another whether we belong.
Cincinnati Shockers: 2 very nice Ws to start the ssn, including an extremely impressive W over MEM, with a big game against GB coming up. As I told them in PMs, shame we play so early. It just seems wrong on every level.
Washington Wolfpack: Scary W over LV Birds, but a W all the same. I still believe they belong up here.
Monmouth Evil Monkeys: I refuse to drop them any further than this, yet. Great teams adjust to the sim as the ssn goes on. Whether anyone likes it or not, MEM is a great team
Lincoln Navigators: Nice turn around game over a supposedly much improved Parma team
Minnesota Marauders: Galk’s got them at 2-0
Over The Rhine Red Dots: They have the most complete D play book I’ve seen this ssn. This ranking will raise some eyebrows, based on the score of their last game, but the game wasn’t as bad as it looked and they are better than the score.
Spicewood Longhorns: Have done nothing but shown why I’ve always liked this team
Detroit Demon Lions : 2-0, but it’s hard to look past the depth in the center of their D and you’d like to see them win by a little more
Carolina Hammer: I’ll give them a HUGE jump, based on some extremely impressive D play. The troubling aspect is that they aren’t scoring much. I’ll be extremely interested to see if they can keep this spot or move up
San Diego Lightning: All they did to rebound from their week 1 L was spank a most likely underrated Compton team
Washington Bullets: I still see this as a very good ssn for these former defending champs
Alpine Golfers: 2 nice Ws to start the ssn, but they’ve yet to really be welcomed into the East
Honolulu Hurricane Warriors: Took a big step today in showing that those leaving them for dead may be making a mistake
Northwest Arkansas Naturals: Nice W over LV Birds and lost a coin flip game to DDL
South Bay Spartans: Even after bumping them up 4 slots, they’re still most likely too low here
Chicago Hedgehogs: They just haven’t played anyone yet. Normally I wouldn’t say this about a team that beat ***O***, but I don’t believe Duff was into it, and for good reasons. That changes next game, when they face a tough NAV team.
***Official*** Footballguys: Great team that can turn things around in a hurry. Don’t let their record fool you. They’re far better than 19th, but one doesn’t know if Duff will have the time to flip the switch.
Compton Vikings: Bumped them 8 spots up. Win 1 of their next 3 games and they’ll prove they belong here. Win 2 and they deserve to be higher.
Columbus Woodys: With a not horrible showing against the WolfPack and a solid W over Steel, I’ll bump them up a couple
Richey Royals: 0-2, but they have played 2 tough teams and have looked good. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like their next 2 games are much more forgiving.
Indianapolis Gurupies: I think these guys could be a pretty solid team. Big game against the Gamblers next.
Las Vegas Freebirds: Very impressive showing against the WolfPack and could have just as easily beat NAN. I still believe that they could climb into a PO spot this ssn.
Bourbon Street Bullies: Very tough start, but I believe they’ll win their next game and then have 3 more games that could define their ssn
Chocolate City Cha Chings: Plummeted 11 spots from my PS rankings, but I do believe that they will turn things around and they’ll be one of the teams climbing back up.
NY-CA Ground Pounders: A 16 spot free fall most likely is too much, but they’re also likely to be 0-3 before they can prove me wrong.
Texas Roughnecks: These guys are another team that could easily climb.
Parma Burglars: They should pick up a W next game, but it may be one of very few this ssn. The ray of hope is that they didn’t get demolished by the 2 tough teams they played.
Kalamazoo Coyotes: I love these guys, but I just don’t see it this ssn.
Pittsburgh Steel: They still have impressive scouting bars, but, despite having enough GMs to run 20 teams, they just haven’t looked good yet.
Dallas Vaqueros: I go way back with these guys. This once extremely proud and dangerous team will be in a hell of a fight to stay here for ssn 10.
