1. Green Bay (1-0) - my preseason #1 did nothing to hurt themselves blasting the San Diego Lightning 90-20. San Diego had averaged 60+ in pre-season but they found out quickly that the Green Bay defense is for real and their offense is as explosive as any in the league. 9 turnovers for the Lightning made the game ugly real quick. Tough game for Green Bay this week as they take on #4 OTR.

2. Cincinnati (1-0) - West overrated? Probably so if the Shockers win over Monmouth is any indication. The Shockers crushed the defending Western Conference champs 75-41 behind 155 yards rushing from Jacob Orangeblood and 400 yards passing from John Young. Cincy will hand Richey their second USA Pro loss this week.

3. Las Vegas (1-0) - the defending champs continued where they left off, rolling over the USA AAA#2 champs 61-9. RB Cia Penguin led the way for the Gamblers with 4 scores and a bend but don't break defense held the Ground Pounders to just three field goals. The Gamblers will try and make it 14 in a row this week against the undefeated Coyotes.

4. Over the Rhine (1-0) - it was definitely the week of offense and OTR's win over Texas was no different as they put up 500+ yards of offense in a 72-38 win. Cooter Splitter led the way with 160+ yards of total offense and 3 TD's. The Dots will have their work cut out for them this week against the Maulers but they have the talent to pull off the upset.

5. Detroit (1-0) - the Demon Lions behind the speedy legs of Ice Cold squeaked by Lincoln despite being outgained by nearly 200 yards.

Others considered - Alpine (1-0), Carolina (1-0), Indianapolis (1-0)

1. Washington (1-0) - with new coordinators on both sides of the ball, things were uncertain in Wolfpack land as they entered the regular season. A great ground attack and a stifling defense, however, led to an impressive 43-10 win over the Woodys. George Street had 176 yards on only 16 carries and defenders picked off 5 passes to lead the way for the Wolfpack.

2. Monmouth (0-1) - is it a case of Monmouth running into a better team or are they just having problems adjusting to not giving Csonka the ball 50 times? What was up with Csonka only getting 4 carries? Yea the passing game is better, but come on. Part of me thinks Monmouth is lulling people to sleep for the end of season Csonka blast. Another part of me thinks they have some work to do. Regardless, they're still easily one of the elite teams in all of GLB.

3. Lincoln (0-1) - Lincoln rallied late to make it a game against the Demon Lions but they couldn't overcome early turnover issues and fell to Detroit. Lincoln should be able to rebound this week with a win over Parma.

4. Minnesota (1-0) - the Marauders held off a furious comeback from the Royals to win by the slimmest of margins, 50-45, in a game that featured 1,100 yards of total offense. Mo Jones-Drew led a high powered rushing attack with 268 yards and 3 TD's on only 11 carries.

5. Chicago (1-0) - with every other team in the Worstern Conference losing, the Hedgehogs move into the top five by default. Not to say that they aren't deserving of the spot considering they beat one of the better teams in the East in the OFG's 38-31. Despite giving up 258 yards receiving to some blazing green dude, the Hedgehogs were able to pull off the victory. The efficient passing of Tom Koziol who went 26 of 41 for 243.5 yards and 3 scores was a big reason for the Hedgehogs success.

Others considered - Spicewood (1-0), Honolulu (0-1), South Bay (1-0)

They will have to do better than losing to South Bay to get consideration for hazy's top 10 for a conference.

Glad to see the Power 10! Now for my first criticism of the new edition: Wolfpack way too high. I'd also say Gamblers too low, but the teams ahead of them are equally awesome.

Thanks for the props, Hazy, but I still believe that you deserve the #1 slot until you lose it, if that ever happens.

Since we are now one of four 2-0 teams in the west, does that mean we'll be 2-0 next week? lol.
