Has anyone ever tried making a DE to specifically be a pass-rushing OLB (think LaMarr Woodley) in a 3-4?

It seems like the better level gains and SAs would make it worthwhile.

You take a pretty big OOP hit. SO much I don't think it's worth it.

that's a pretty interesting concept, especially with the increasing prevalence of 3-4 defenses and rush OLBs

If anything just build a LB like you would a DE and use the new LB depth chart positions to make him a rush specialist.
