Where should equipment go in? Agility at 74, strength at 73.

why? you should have all EQ into 1 or split evenly (most often to 1st), i dont think i would ever suggest putting 1 set of EQ into a attribute of its own

why?
in order to take full advantage of increased SP cost when that attribute gets higher. GLB rewards those who specialize in one Attribute.

Isn't it just the raw attribute number that matters when talking about cap costs and whatnot?

I do that quite frequently.

maz has one of the top 2-3 DTs in the game. different advice than i gave, but probably worth taking.

doesn't make wrong advice any more correct. If you want higher speed then don't take agility and strength so high and instead add a couple more points to speed. Equipment should ideally all be in your highest attributes to maximize its value. If you have it somewhere else, then your build could have been better if you had planned it out differently.

When you're level 29+, performance takes priority over value when it comes to equipment.

how is my advice wrong and yours right? there is a point where adding more agility is not worth it even via equipment

Because if you plan was to start adding equipment to speed then you base agility is too high and would have been better off in speed, its really just a math problem and I could prove it if you really care.
Obviously for established builds, especially 1st and 2nd season builds, this might be something that should be done to maximize a player's effectiveness since they often don't have "ideal" builds but for players being created now, they should be planning better to avoid the need for inefficient equipment placement down the road.
edit: depending on the OP's players build maz might even be right that he should put some equipment in speed (because he has already made mistakes that are going to lead to agility being "too high", but considering he didn't show the build you certainly can't make a blanket assumption that some equipment should be in speed.

what if my base speed and agility are near the same? what if i spent an entire season testing whether i was more effective taking a piece of agility equipment and putting it on speed and seeing the results favoring speed? what if the best build isnt just one insanely high attribute as you seem to so stubbornly believe to be the only way to build well?

I'm beginning to spread out my equipment as well. If you're higher than your opponent in a particular attribute, that's good enough right? No need to destroy them in an attribute. Those extra SP's could be used to improve other attributes.
