I have heard over and over again that super high vision HBs are not good. I don't have any proof to support the following theory, so I was hopeful someone out there has a similar build to what I'm about to describe and would like to share their experiences/replays that discredit my theory...

Here it is, and I'm sure many of you have thought of this, so if all you're going to add to the convo is flames, just leave.

Thinking about the programming that Bort had to do, what would he put into place to make a back "Super Elusive"...The only real tool he has to simulate that is, well, a lot of vision checks. Which I think is what is causing the hesitation we see in all the super elusives: Vision check...fail...vision check...fail...vision check...pass! Had he passed it the first time I don't think we would see half the hesitation. So, has anyone had the following:

Speed 95+
Agility 75+
Vision 70+
Carrying 70+ (I believe that there is a very strong correlation between carrying and SA firing.)

SAs 7-9 in elusives to give the back the "tools" to actually pull off the vision checks.

This player is obviously going to have to be quite a high level to obtain these type of skills...Has anyone created a back similar to what is described and what were the results on super elusive? Please share some replays if you can find them.

I think you're on to something, honestly.

I've been thinking along the same lines as you..

From what I can tell the problem isn't failed vision checks, rather that high vision makes the HB worry about far away defenders. The HB sees DBs 10-15 yards away, panics, and waits to get tackled for a loss. Meanwhile a HB with lower vision only worries about defenders within 4-5 feet, allowing the HB to hit whatever hole is available, even if for just a 3-4 yard gain.

I really don't think that is true anymore, at all.

I haven't tried it this season, but that was my experience in season 8.

either way, vision has had negative effects for a lot of people...which should never be the case. i don't see someone heavily investing in something that can actually be detrimental if taken to the wrong level.

Some people claimed that with QBs...

I have seen combo backs with 94 speed 65 power, 65 agility, and power SA's and 34 vision rush for 5000 yds in AAA leagues last season. A similar build on the same team with 50 vision completely sucked.

My Elusive back has 57 vision and I tried super elusive and it has sucked.

I think it had more to do with playcalling...because our backs combined for the #2 rushing offense in the conference (coupled with the #1 passing attack) and one of them was #2 in rushing yards in the conference. the #1 had 200 more carries than our back.

Its more O-line and playcalling.

O-line + Playcalling + decent build=success running the ball

I tested it last night with my HB in USA AA against a good opponent, I was sure that it would suck, but I actually got surprised, I think the new lead blocker interaction is making super-elusive a good choice (I will test it in other scrimmages, including my RB in SA Pro):

Superb blocking and 2 great cuts!

Can you explain that run to me?

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=546554&pbp_id=2039214

This is a good example of very good run D!

I hate the little dancing at the end!

Sweet run, but doesnt look like super elusive to me!

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=546554&pbp_id=2045872

Sweet cut there!

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=546554&pbp_id=2045947

High pressure there!

Super elusive + HB screen = FAIL

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=546554&pbp_id=2047050

good run there with cuts and some HF!

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=546554&pbp_id=2048425

Dancing with the Stars run here!

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=546554&pbp_id=2048741

Now, that was sweet!

Speed: 96
Agility: 75
Vision: 52
Carrying: 53
7-4-5-5-3 in the elusive tree

I still have 15 SP to apply so it could get better (or worse, I dont know with that SIM)

Super elusive seems to be good this season. My HB only has 48 vision. I'll post more from today's game in a bit.

Well, it was a crappy game overall as my HB only got 11 carries.

Here's one super elusive highlight. Reminds me of some of the old Tea Baggins clips of half the D getting paralyzed.

I've never gone near super elusive with my back before this season even with his his vision being 62 but after running it in the last game i was pleasantly suprised. I didn't see any of the hesitation that i saw in other seasons. It was only one game though so i'll run it again tonight and see how it works out.

i'm just wondering whether it would be effective at like 30 vision too, because if it is what's the point of throwing sp's into it?
