As I progress should I keep dumping points into speed or should I mix it up and throw in agility and vision?

I mean is 104 speed that much better than 100 speed?

What level?

If you have other abilities worked up, you do not need 100+ speed. The debate is whether 100 speed with 60 agility is better than 90 speed with 70 agility or even 80/80. The more rounded FS is "overall" a better FS is terms of FS duties. If you have a 100/60, then that is more like a CB and should be used in coverage more so than FS duties. The 80/80 would be ideal for covering the 4/5 WR, TE, run support up the middle. That is how I see it.

Heres a hint: high vision makes up for lower speed and agility and can actually help you with other areas too. Vision could help you make a tackle, force a fumble, locate ball carrier, break sooner on a pass. Vision enables you to do all of these things better. Safeties need speed, but they don't need to be track stars, just fast enough to make the play. Personally, I think you are better off with a well rounded build with emphasis on speed, than a speed focused build which sacrifices other attributes.

The difference between 104 and 100, that's not huge.

But the difference between like 80 and 90 speed could be decent. I've always thought that high agility is important for FS because you need to be able to break quickly as soon as the ball is thrown. It would seem vision could help you see/locate the ball and agility/speed would help you get there.

I think overall speed should be greater than agility (though not in a 100:60 ratio) while vision should sit at about the 3rd cap.

100:60 = 10:6 = 5:3

Speed and agility within 10 or so is a popular CB benchmark . . . I would say for a FS you can actually have a higher ratio as you're in less man coverage and need more straight-line speed to run people down.

SP-wise, I probably wouldn't spend past 68. But you'll want 90-95+ speed, at a minimum. You can partially make up for that with solid agility/vision, but IMO FS might be the most speed-intensive DB position.

F.S.'s need A lot of speed. That crap about vision makes up for speed is complete crap. Especially this season.

lol, sure it is.

You are right... put all skill points into speed. Safeties do not need agility or vision... just speed.

Vision is important IMO. It helps you react to a thrown ball quicker, not bite on pump fakes, take better routes to getting to the receiver or ballcarrier, etc.

But vision won't make up if you lack speed. Vision helps you to see the play and react, but if your guy isn't fast enough it doesn't matter how great he is at seeing the play, he won't be very effective.

Speed is really important. Agility is really important. I think vision is important but I would rank it slightly below those 2 attributes.
