The DE alliance is going to run a serious of tests to affirm what we have beginning to suspect: Jumping and Blocking attributes are not as useless as people says.

Why jumping? We have noticed many DEs seem to bullet right off the line and the conventional wisdom of Vision, Jump the Snap, and Agility simply cannot explain. We are going to include Jumping in the algorithm testing to see if that helps a DE's ability to "jump off the line"

Blocking - while it may be useless when you don't have a solid-build DE already, but we suspect it may be the difference maker once you have a solid build DE in other areas.

The issue with Blocking is it gives a minor boost to breaking blocks, while in seasons 3-6 there was no benefit to breaking a block because the OL would just immediately re-engage. With reverse pancakes in the sim blocking should finally have value, though I wouldn't recommend it for a speed build.

Good luck with the tests.

Beginning? Are you serious?

jumping doesn't help you "jump off the line" you idiot.

I have been telling everyone to up their jumping for about 4 seasons now. I should dig it up where I got flamed for days for SAYING DIVING SACKS existed.

It's already known jumping helps, blocking helps a little but not THAT much.

your "d.e. alliance" is about 4 season behind what most of us already know.

jumping increases tackle radius....there's no way its a bad thing. if it happens to help you get off the line better that'd be cool.

LOL Bort has already addressed this. jumping doesn't help linemen "jump" off the line. Whether it's offense or defense.

Is this going to be a secret test or are we privy to who exactly the testers are in the "DE Alliance"?

it's difficult to test anything unless you have two guys with similar builds going against similar competition... and then compare things like "if this guy has 20 confidence and 50 jumping will he outperform this guy who has 50 confidence and 20 jumping".

unfortunately you have to ignore the scientific method if you want to run 'tests' on GLB
