From my point of view, the shuffle has some good and bad points...
First, the good for my Team, the Chicago Lazer Squirrels, is that we have a shot to be more competitive with a shuffle.
Our Conference was stacked with power house teams that we couldn't hope to match up with for at least 2 more full seasons. We put up a good fight in Season 8, but they were just too good, and they looked to get better than us even FASTER in the fore-seeable future.
Now the BAD...
It appeared from some of the posts here, and from the level of many opponents, that many of the top teams of our conference had some class acts as owners/GMs. It will be hard to find the quality of those guys in a shuffle, and I for one will miss testing our team's ability to compete against teams who are surely going to force us to be at our best.
Even though we only went 9 and 7, and bowed out of the play offs early to the mighty Maners, I will miss the competition...
I like to live by the thought that it isn't the winning or losing alone which measures your quality as a competitor, but also the quality of those who beat, and who YOU beat that proves your true worth...
After the shuffle the wins may be "easier", but I seriously doubt they will mean quite as much...
thanks for the season of beat downs guys...I enjoyed it.
