So to what do you attribute your success?

OFG looked liked they killed you on percentage of runs as well as I Slams, so do you think maybe that massive depth advantage had something to do with it, or did that not factor in very much?

I don't think depth had much to do with it at all, the OFG's have a deep roster with numerous players who only play special teams like us. Mainly it was the defense coming up with just enough big stops/big plays and us being able to convert some crucial passes.

Ok, fair enough.

I tend to think that the depth played a more significant role in the general flow of the game in being able to defend his run better than he could defend yours. I think it would be interesting to compare the energy sheets of both teams to see what they look like in comparison, if both of you would like to offer that up for additional perspective?

I sure am not getting into a pissing match over this, but, I don't care what anyone says, depth is an advantage. I personally wouldn't say it's unfair, but it is an advantage that can make a big difference in a game. I'm sure not saying that is why Hazy is winning. Honestly, I think his QB roll out plays a bigger part than anything. Having a play that 6-7 times out of 10 is going to get you 9-99 yds and only costs you a 1-3 yd loss the other 3-4 times is a hell of a threat, particularly when you have to sell out your run D to stop it. Of course with having solid builds is right up there too

/done with my part of the hijacking ...Had started this before, walked away and missed Matt's hijack comment, or I wouldn't have finished writing it.

To almost put this back on track, against MEM, one would have to give the talent edge to them in the Champ game. That said, Hazy has the tools to give them a game

Depth didn't matter in our game. Have a look at the other thread about the East. He had four huge plays in the 4th. Two that led to the only score in the second half (the game winner), two that prevented us from kicking the go ahead FG.

I wasn't saying it did, just that it's a general advantage. Actually, I glanced at the PBP and it looks like a sack towards the end took 3 off the board and then an int in his end after that was a huge blow.

Well you only lost by 1 pt, so sure you could have won if it weren't for that INT or some other key plays. But if say he took 15 players off his team and had the same roster size, then under the same sim maybe you would have won by 30 pts? So lose by 1 with a depth disadvantage, or blow them out with an even roster, that to me says depth was key. Of course a 30 pt victory is just a hypothetical.

For example, let's say this, what if I propose that both of you run the same script and set up a scrim game, and the only thing changed is LVG takes those 15 guys or so off the roster and puts them on the bench, just to see what happens in that case. Now I know it's only 1 game test on each scenario, so granted a tiny sample size, but it might give you a different perspective for how much depth gives an advantage.
