I have just submitted the Support request to be dropped back down to the bottom tier like Philly and Chicago before me. I hope to bring the Wolves back to USA PRO several seasons from now, taking the hard lessons learned against the best competition on GLB.
Staying in USA PRO was the biggest challenge I have faced in this game. Having inherited a gutted team midway through Season 2, it was touch and go in those early seasons staying in the league. In fact, it looked really bleak at some points!! Then I was blessed with some great agents who gave me a shot and did my best to recruit a competitive team. While ultimately, we were unable to achieve our goal of being a playoff team, we were always proud of the team. I can't thank all of my players past and present for their contributions over the seasons and will miss them all.
First, I wanted to thank all of my fellow USA PRO competition for always treating games with the Wolves seriously, even if our record didn't merit it. I also appreciate the respect given to us in rankings and kind words said about the team.
Second, although I definitely voiced my opinion, I hope that I conducted myself with honor and class while I was here, and made more friends than enemies. I have a great deal of respect for those that compete here, even when our philosophies differ.
Third, while many problems with the SIM absolutely figured into my decision, I've made it clear time and again that I don't expect any team to do anything but attempt to win. You win with whatever plays help you to do that. The problem is never the exploiters, but the fact that there is something to be exploited.
Although I came to this decision much earlier in the season, but anyone who knows me know I would never quit on my team, my players, or compromise the integrity of the league by gutting. For better or worse, I was going to put my best product on the field from Game 1 to Game 16.
I will remain in USA PRO in some capacity next season, and will continue to look forward to facing off with the best players, owners and GMs in GLB.
Thank you, and I hope to be competing with you again on the field soon!
