Found a net by a person that claimed to have created over 100 players since season 1. He has many good suggestions, but one suggestion is interesting that I would like your opinions on.

He thinks everyone who creates a new player should boost to lvl 4 right away (and every season), and he's reasoning are:

1) This way you're guaranteed a starter on your first CPU team and get the max XP from games.

2) GLB only allows boosting for the first 10 seasons (this true?) and you're just hurting yourself from the 15 extra SPs in the long run which are way more valuable than training advantages early on.

Interesting, I wouldn't take this seriously if he didn't have other good ideas.

That's only effective for positions where starting is hard. I know my DT had 0 trouble getting on a CPU team where he averaged ~75 plays a game.

Don't encourage him.

you get enough xp... boosting to 4 asap is a terrible idea because ideally you want to cap your first skill at level 3. it's very difficult to do that, especially without slow building, for certain positions.

The more interesting theory is the second one, providing that you're rich with flex points (or simply rich), is it true that one can only boost up to year 10 for the player? if that's the case by not boosting year to year you do lose that quick hump of 15 SPs from boosting if you intend to play your player for a long long time.

found it in wiki, so 10 years is boosting limit for a player, if you intend to play your player for more than 10 years that suggestion is not all bad.

might not be a horrible idea to boost on day 41 of season 1....

everyone should listen to this advice and play in the leagues my players play in. If you do this my players won't rack up any stats against yours. reliable.

boosting early is bad. this game rewards people who slow build and hit caps early. the fewer major attributes you have the greater the reward it is to slow build and hit caps super early. the converse of that is: the greater the penalty against you for boosting early and NOT hitting these caps asap (relative to mr. slow built).

If you get enough XP from games, you will be at level 4 after the first 4 games (or about 10 days) so there is not much advantage to do this from level 1. If you wait until the end of your first season, you will actually be 1 (or maybe 2) level up on a player that boosted right away (in the same season) so you would actually cost yourself SPs instead of gaining them. Aside from kicker, I've never had an issue getting max XP in the D-leagues.

You really can't explain anything to this guy.

even without the stat benefits boosting early in season 1 is terrible since you lose a ton of XP over the course of the season

Considering ANYONE can edit the wiki that hardly means it's true. In fact I'm fairly certain its not.

(spot the logical flaw)

Bort: "After 10 seasons stop giving me more money for your player"

You: "Please take my money I beg of you."

Bort: "No! GLB wiki says you can't boost after 10 seasons"
