Well its been a while!

Here is the first Power Rankings of the Season.

Taking into account, Record, Strength of Schedule, Points for and against, yards for and against, head to heads, win streaks, and last 5 games stats.

As usual, I will post the easiest to read stats only, and these are not my opinions, they are just how the stats work out.

All the comments end in a Question to stir up this almost sterile forum!
Please post your opinions in here, but keep it civil, and remember the positions are not my opinion they are based on the stats alone.

1) Woodridge Lumberjacks
Record 10-0-0
Opponents Record 45-51-0
Avg Points Scored 31.6
Avg Points Allowed 5.6

'Woo-Jacks' look unstoppable, and provide the theme for the Alpha League, that good tactics and builds will beat higher level players everytime.
Although their stats are slightly padded by two easy games, they are without doubt the team to beat in the alpha.
Can they avoid a costly slip up?

2) London Monarchs
Recrord 9-1-0
Opponents Record 49-47-0
Avg Points Scored 21.1
Avg Points Allowed 15.1

A good record but worryingly poor scoring stats. Always doing just enough to win, Monarchs have yet to face either of the Alpha's whipping boys.
Are they as good as their record, or are they flattering to decieve?

3) Stuttgart Nighthawks
Record 7-3-0
Opponents Record 48-48-0
Avg Points Scored 21.8
Avg Points Allowed 9.2

Stuttgart were a team to respect last season, and nothing has changed. A strong defense has kept them in every game this year, and 2 of their losses were to Woo Jacks and Monarchs, with FTA the only team to put up big numbers against them all year.
Have they got what it takes to win in the Play Offs?

4) Valhalla Vikings
Record 7-3-0
Opponents Record 43-53-0
Avg Points Scored 26.9
Avg Points Allowed 14.5

Vikings were my outside tip last year, you could see their squad taking shape, and Helluin has made the most of his first half season to fine tune his tactics.
The scary part is its only now that they seem to be hitting their stride on offense.
Can they find a way to turn those close defeats into victories in the play offs?

5) Lyon Sharks
Record 6-4-0
Opponents Record 48-48-0
Avg Points Scored 27.6
Avg Points Allowed 20.4

Well the difference between 5th and 9th is as close in the Power Rankings as it is in the Standings! Head to heads and minor stats are all that seperates them.
Lyon are another example of an alpha team getting results through more than just high level players, although they have a few of those as well.
Can their Defense step it up, to make them a contender?

6) FTA
Record 6-4-0
Opponents Record 50-46-0
Avg Points Scored 24.3
Avg Points Allowed 17.9

FTA are always likely to score points, but they have yet to prove they can be consistent on Defense, over two seasons.
But that ability to score may get them through some tough play off games.
Have a very good chance of finishing with 10 wins, maybe more.
Will they finally perform to expectations?

7) Nice Dauphins
Record 6-4-0
Opponents Record 49-47-0
Avg Points Scored 29.5
Avg Points Allowed 13.9

Not sure what happened at the start of the season, but Nice seem to have got it together, and are pushing for the play offs.
A shallow but high level squad, can Dauphins last deep into the play offs?

8) Lake Charles Who Dats
Record 6-4-0
Opponents Record 48-48-0
Avg Points Scored 29.8
Avg Points Allowed 14.4

There were high expectations on the shores of Lake charles for this season, but all has not gone as expected.
Still, on their day Who Dats can destroy any team, and the next three games are vital to their season.
They have a very friendly end schedule.
Will Who Dats have enough to get a home game in the play offs?

9) E-City Mercenaries
Record 6-4-0
Opponents Record 50-46-0
Avg Points Scored 22.4
Avg Points Allowed 11.4

At first I was surprised to see Mercs outside of a play off spot, but when you look carefully at their squad, at their game strategies, you see just how good an Owner Zickzack is.
Mercs are still a team I dont want to face in the play offs.
Question is will they make it at all?

10) Wembley Warriors
Record 5-5-0
Opponents Record 52-44-0
Avg Points Scored 21.4
Avg Points Allowed 22.1

---Wow---

11)Aggieland Wrecking Crew
Record 5-5-0
Opponents Record 46-50-0
Avg Points Scored 29.4
Avg Points Allowed 14.2

On paper they shouldn't be this low, but several teams in Alpha have proven able to fight above their weight and AWC like Warriors are suffering.
A push towards the play offs needs to come soon but where the wins will come from?

12) Blackpool Mountain Lions
Record 4-6-0
Opponents Record 49-47-0
Avg Points Scored 14.4
Avg Points Allowed 21.1

Last season they were a dark horse, who came good in time for the play offs.
They seem to have lost some depth and have suffered this season.
Probably need 4 wins to make the play offs, can they cause a few upsets to get there?

13) Glastonbury Knights
Record 1-9-0
Opponents Record 60-36-0
Avg Points Scored 9.8
Avg Points Allowed 26.5

The issues at knights were never on the playing field, but they now have an owner who can commit more time to the team, and they will be gearing up for the big showdown with Paris in week 14.
But can they avoid getting sucked into the relegation battle?

14) Paris - AM
Record 2-8-0
Opponents Record 51-45-0
Avg Points Scored 9.8
Avg Points Allowed 29.5

Another team who struggled with off the field issues, Paris seem to have turned a corner just in time.
Probably safe from relegation already, one more win will bring them some security.
Can they get it?

15) Middleton Razorbacks
Record 0-10-0
Opponents Record 53-43
Avg Points Scored 6.1
Avg Points Allowed 28.7

Strange times at Middleton, massive turnover, oddities with the owners players, yet still a solid squad and plenty of $$$'s, so are they a farm team, or just a very poorly run team?
Either way if they win today they might still get safe, if not they are down, its that simple.
So whats going on at Middleton?

16) Boondock Saints
Record 0-10-0
Opponents Record 59-37-0
Avg Points Scored 1.3
Avg Points Allowed 62.7

One win would be enough to keep the Saints in the league next season, as long as that win comes today.
Good luck with the re-build effort.
But which legue will you be rebuilding in?

Todays Games:

Key Game

Loser is relegated, well more or less, it is extremely unlikely that either team will find a victory elsewhere, so toadys outcome could very well seal someones fate.

(6) Fightin' Texas Aggies vs. Paris - Asnieres Molosses (14)

very, very good looking.

I just want to apologize to Zeta. I thought some stuff was going to slow down a little bit in real life lately, but unfortunately, the opposite as happened. As soon as I can get back to it, I'll get some power rankings up, but if anyone else wants to put some up, please do. It definitely wouldn't hurt my feelings.

Thanks Mike! I appreciate the rankings. Very professional and hopefully the FTA won't disappoint.

Welcome back Mike, good to see you doing these again

Although I am still pondering what you think is so special about what I am doing as an owner ...unless of course you were being sarcastic

Mercs have always had a knack of finding a weakness to exploit ZZ, are you saying its just dumb luck???

I thought with two AAA leagues, two teams would get relegated. Is it only one team now?

I thought so too, but after searching long and hard, this is still the only available info.

5. How do playoffs work?
-----a. You must be in the top 8 of your conference to make the playoffs. And it is single elimination. The top teams in each conference, through playoff, get promoted to the next league (there are 2 conferences in a league and 16 teams per conference)
-----b. The bottom 2 teams in each conference drop down to the lower league (This is for the newly restructured US Leagues, for other leagues, it's just the bottom team in each conference)
