Irule brought it up in WarEagle's forum, but we all pretty much agreed last year that there wasnt a need for an allstar/allpro team or teams last season because most of the players werent in the league for at least half the season (for example, my team wasnt in the league until game 9).

If these teams were to happen how would we even vote on players? For example, the best CBs have few stats because no one throws their way. I believe dime back on my team is the highest level CB in our league (I think hes one of the top 5 in the game so I figure hes tops in our league) however between the strength of our defense keeping opposing offenses off the field and the fact that he shuts down his side, he doesnt have many stats. That is one of the many issues that I believe would be a problem with an all pro team.

I believe it would be fun for the league, but there will be numerous "vote for my guy" stuff going on and I dont know how to solve all of the problems.

I mean .. DE is pretty clear, DEs hurries and sacks would probably be the best bet to gauge success as a DE, considering that tackles are going to be skewed heavily to crappy teams, you could put tackles/snap, sacks/snap, hurries/snap as defensive people and then see who the best are with a minimum of snaps played, I however believe that would take a lot of work as well, but it would at least be a good measure of their effectiveness.

Anyhow I hope to open discussion, why I focused so much on defense is because offense is much easier to gauge stats actually mean something on offense, but on defense its harder to judge.

simple....you let everyone vote thier own player's, site reasons. Then let wareagle choose.

Only work done is by the user and a little by WarEagle.

we should get every 1 who does reports and have them get together and do it. i did one last year for AAA. if you guys want i could do it if some 1 wanted to do like Alpha and ill do Zeta or vice versa.

One of the better "All-Pro" ballots I've seen:

We can set up some third party site that takes nominations then votes and try to have other leagues take part in the voting. This would be pretty effective sine if we make a site with voting for one league we can easily make it so that it allows voting for all other leagues as well. Then it wouldn't just dissolve into a "my player my player my player" type of thing.

Third party site is more susceptible to vote manipulation/overvoting/etc

Good idea, but TexAgs has been responsible for too many internet poll manipulations that we have actually got them broken, meaning the polls were taken down because we were spamming them to death.

Anyhow, Im up for a team .. just as long as the owners could come to a consensus as to what the voting criteria were.

HB
Yards - Cary Stayner
Average YPC >100 carries - Cary Stayner, Big Dawg, VD N'uffsaid, Tricky Richard, He Man all tied
TDs - Cary Stayner though he better watch out because Vice could catch him if we had a big day or a chose to be a running team that day.

So clearly the Alpha #1 is Stayner .. our situation in Zeta would seem that the guy who at least runs the most is the NJ Cryin' Kid.

So if we had conference teams it might be different than a league team. War Eagle says he only wants to do/has time to do 1 team. Clearly the best 2 backs are in Alpha, us Zeta folks dont run and those backs in Zeta who do run, eventually have to play Prague at which time they dont run ;D

We can try to get Bort to host it on their servers. Also, I think that instead of nominations we have a committee decide on who the top 10 are in each league for each position then have people vote. Also, disallow voting for the same team.

Man, that would be hard to get them to get done before the end of the season.

I dont know of a legit way to do this that would work without some bitching.

Of course when anything involves more than 1 person, it will probably not be unanimous ;D

Maybe the owners can come up with a list of 10 at each position for the league, NO GMs just owners, that is still 320 votes at each position, top 5(x) where x represents starters at that position are put up for vote to the masses? The masses vote is really the hard part IMO, a computer script could be programmed for any website to identify each of the 32 owners rather easily from a list, once that person voted, their name would be locked.

The issue would be programming the 100s of user accounts for the entire league if there was going to be mass voting you know? And then associating the name with a team and disallowing voting for people on the same team would be tough, doable but tough.

If someone wants to program that, go right ahead and do it and I will have to trust you ;D because I am not going to go around and collect all the names.

I Like that idea about not being able to vote for players on the same team.

Yeah I like that too, the only issue is Bort isnt going to help us with this, so we need to do it on our own.

Also we probably shouldnt cast votes until the regular season is over, then restrict the votes to regular season stats (though I doubt that a team dominating in the playoffs wouldnt skew things).

I think I would be able to program that. Actually I think I'll start doing it now.Anyone got more ideas though?

I'm thinking have the code tie in with another empty account here. For owners, they would have to register, then they'd get a confirmation message from the empty account. They would have to reply with "Yes" and they would be confirmed. This could also be done for all players who want to vote (either allow everyone to vote or only allow those who have players in the league to vote and they wouldn't be able to vote for anyone on any of their players' teams.

All it would require is a little messing with post code and a lot of sockets and parsing and it would work quite well. Though it would require a few people to be "admins" of it (if they're unbiased would be better) to look over to make sure nothing is rigged.

If anyone is up for it and can help with graphic design or testing, let me know. Also any ideas would be appreciated.

Well with his 5 hurries and 2 sacks against Silesia I think that Shaun Kruscher cinched his spot for best DE this was against a L16 LT as well.

you and I both know that LT was a poor build. He's a level 16 with a yellow bar for blocking. Deebo is going to be the league leader when it's all said and done.
