Irule brought it up in WarEagle's forum, but we all pretty much agreed last year that there wasnt a need for an allstar/allpro team or teams last season because most of the players werent in the league for at least half the season (for example, my team wasnt in the league until game 9).
If these teams were to happen how would we even vote on players? For example, the best CBs have few stats because no one throws their way. I believe dime back on my team is the highest level CB in our league (I think hes one of the top 5 in the game so I figure hes tops in our league) however between the strength of our defense keeping opposing offenses off the field and the fact that he shuts down his side, he doesnt have many stats. That is one of the many issues that I believe would be a problem with an all pro team.
I believe it would be fun for the league, but there will be numerous "vote for my guy" stuff going on and I dont know how to solve all of the problems.
I mean .. DE is pretty clear, DEs hurries and sacks would probably be the best bet to gauge success as a DE, considering that tackles are going to be skewed heavily to crappy teams, you could put tackles/snap, sacks/snap, hurries/snap as defensive people and then see who the best are with a minimum of snaps played, I however believe that would take a lot of work as well, but it would at least be a good measure of their effectiveness.
Anyhow I hope to open discussion, why I focused so much on defense is because offense is much easier to gauge stats actually mean something on offense, but on defense its harder to judge.
