Sacramento SS Psychos (9-1) vs. Seattle Fish n Chips (8-2)
This is a match between two of the top teams in the conference, having a combined record of 17-3. This game will depend on who can impose their will more strongly on the other. Will it be Seattle and their 2nd ranked pass offense, or Sacramento and their 3rd ranked rush offense? Whichever team is able to neutralize the other's strength will probably come out on top.
Prediction: Seattle 23, Sacramento 20
Louisiana Ragin Cajuns (7-3) vs. St. Paul Shockers (1-9)
The Cajuns are on a two game losing streak, being upset by the Lumberjacks and the Death Stars. The Shockers haven't won since week 2. The Cajuns should be able to take advantage of a Shockers defense that is giving up over 26 points a game and 4.2 yards per play, while St. Paul needs to find a way to neutralize Louisiana's 4th ranked passing offense.
Prediction: Louisiana 21, St. Paul 7
Montana Carnage (5-5) vs. Minnesota Lumberjacks (4-6)
These are two teams that are playing above their record right now. Both squads have won 4 of their last 5 and are fighting to stay in the playoff hunt. Looking at the numbers, these two teams are fairly close to each other in rank. Montana looks to take advantage of a Lumberjack defense giving up 3.5 yards per play, while Minnesota hopes to put some points on a Carnage defense giving up 16 points per game.
Prediction: Montana 16, Minnesota 14
Fort Worth Red Raiders (4-6) vs. Gotham City Punishers (3-7)
This matchup is the opposite of our previous game, as these teams have both lost 4 of their last 5 games. A win would help them have a shot at sneaking into the playoffs. Fort Worth needs its 9th ranked passing attack to step up for them, while Gotham City needs its defense to tighten up in the redzone, as they have given up almost 20 points per game.
Prediction:Fort Worth: 23, Gotham City 16
Riverside Revolution (4-6) vs. Dallas Longhorns (7-3)
Riverside needs a win badly to stay alive in the conference, having lost 6 of their last 7. Dallas hopes to keep in the race for a home playoff game, having won 3 of their last 4. Riverside needs to stop Dallas' 6th ranked rushing offense while at the same time, breathing some life into an offense which has scored under 5 points per game during their 7 game slump.
Prediction: Dallas 24, Riverside 6
San Francisco Hawks (3-7) vs. Atlanta Dirtybirds (9-1)
The Dirtybirds are looking to keep sole possession of first place, while the Hawks are trying to keep playoff hopes alive. The passing game features a great matchup, as the 7th ranked Dirtybirds offense takes on the 5th ranked Hawks defense. San Francisco, however, is the team who needs its offense to come to life, as they average just under 8 points per game.
Prediction: Atlanta 27, San Francisco 0
Mid-Pac Warriors (2-8) vs. Portland Aftershocks (8-2)
Mid-Pac hopes to rebound from a 72 point loss last week, while the Aftershocks hope to record their 8th shutout of the year. Mid-Pac's 28th ranked rushing defense will have to pack a lunch against Portland's #2 rushing attack, and their offense must find a way to crack a defense giving up under a touchdown a game, as well as only 2.4 yards per play.
Prediction: Portland 48, Mid-Pac 0
Houston Wave (0-10) vs. Coruscant Death Stars (6-4)
For the second straight week, Houston takes on a team that beat the Ragin Cajuns. Coruscant needs a win to stay in the thick of the playoff hunt, while Houston needs a win just to say they won a game. Look for Coruscant's 9th ranked scoring offense to strike early and often against the 29th ranked Wave scoring defense, which averages about 28 points allowed per outing.
Prediction: Coruscant 31, Houston 7

That said, I appear to be getting better in terms of not only getting games right, but being deadly accurate with the scores. Case in point: Last week.
