All games vs. the Kentucky wildcats were removed in my considerations and the stats I quote below.

Top 5 Defensive-tackles

1. Merlin Olsen, Monmouth: No surprise here, in 434 plays Merlin has racked up 42 tackles, 22 hurries, 13 sacks, 3 TFLs, 2 pass deflections and an outstanding 7 Fumbles Forced. He is having a statistical impact on every 6.5 offensive plays and has a TFL or sack every 27 plays.

2. Bush Rollins, Columbus: Bush is having an amazing season and is probably the only d-tackle to have a chance at unseating Merlin from the #1 spot. While Merlin has 13 sacks to Bush's 7, Bush has racked up 10 TFLs to Merlin's 3. In 563 plays, he has 61 tackles, 18 hurries, 7 sacks, 10 TFLs, 2 PDs and 2 FF. He is having a statistical impact on every 6.98 offensive plays and has a TFL or Sack every 33 plays.

3. Domata Ngata, Over the Rhine: Having a phenomenal season, Domata has racked up 38 tackles, 13 hurries, 6 sacks, 8 TFLs, 1 PD, and 3 FF in only 432 plays. He is having a statistical impact on every 8.31 offensive plays and has a TFL or Sack every 30.86 plays.

4. Da Stump, Spicewood: With only 386 plays, one has to wonder what his numbers would be if he was in the mid 400s. He has 31 tackles, 8 hurries, 1 sack, and 13 TFLs on the season. He is having a statistical impact on every 9.90 offensive plays and has a TFL or Sack every 27.5 plays.

5. Bake Shake, Parma Yes Parma has a top 5 D-tackle and it is not Dan Dakota. In 451 plays, he has 47 tackles, 3 sacks, 10 TFLs, 1 Int, and 1 fumble recovery. He is having a statistical impact on every 9.60 offensive plays and has a TFL or Sack every 34.7 plays.

LOL Duece Mick. Dude can't tackle worth a crap

I'd like to suggest Hot Potato for the watch list. He is only short 2 hurries for the highest DT in the league, and those are worth something. Plus he did that with being completely unboosted for about the first 8 games.

looking at DTs stats make me feel happy about picking a Strong Safety as a player... I mean, at least he does something every 5 plays... even if it's only a missed tackle
