yeah, Cincy ties it up with 48 seconds left on 3rd and Ten with 80 yards of ground between them and the endzone down by 7... pass to TE Touchdown (appropriately named) Charlie and we got to OT, win the coin toss, receive the ball and march down field to score and win by 7 in OT.... . was a great game, we had double the yards but 3 turnovers to zip neutralized the double offense...

8-0 this week and the crystal ball was dead on about the Cincy vs Toronto game. It's a shame that someone had to lose that one. Give Cincy the credit for a gutsy 4th quarter drive and the methodically driving the ball down the field in overtime. Congrats!

Just finally noticed that pic of yours Gonad, the great Robert Wuhl, one of the funniest guys around....

saw him at an LA comedy club back in 1983 I believe, maybe 81 cant remember anymore LOL he was a very nice guy to meet back then anyway, much bigger star today, he was just starting out back then.... anyway one of the funniest stand up comedians I ever had the chance to see live and Ive seen a bunch of them over the years... from Steve Martin back in the 70's to Jim Gaffigan and Lewis Black just this past year.... Anyway tip of the cap to your choice of avatars, you picked a good one!

Although he is in fact a very good comedian, I chose his pic because of the role he played in the HBO series "Arli$$". He portrayed his character Arliss as a shrewd, shallow, shifty, sports agent and did it in very funny way. There was some good writing on that show.

As I said, it was one of those that you hated to see either team lose. One of the best games of the season.

Almost as good as this game, but not quite:

Agreed. Those were two excellent games. I hate the blow out games where you win by 100-200 points. They should really cap that somehow. I mean really, that just doesn't happen, not even in High School or College games, at least not with the regularity that it occurs in GLB. You simply couldn't score that many points as there isn't enough time on the clock to do so.

There's something screwy with the "overall rating" system when a team that'sonly 5-6 points above or below the other team, gets blown out by 100 points or whatever it is. I expect the better team to win, but not by that much. Otherwise, the sims in GLB are pretty darn good. The sim seems best when you have two teams with the same overall rating, but different strengths and weaknesses in different areas. Those games are fairly realistic and the scores aren't way out of line.

Yep, you can never put too much in to those ratings. The Legends were +3 on us when we beat them here (I think they were +3 on us when we beat them last season too):

The rankings are, AFAIK, based only on levels and we all know that levels don't win games, builds and tactics do...Although if you have much higher levels you are bound to beat up on the little guys whether your builds and tactics suck or not.

I was wondering about that. We had an overall rating of 42 for most of the season. Then a couple of games ago, two things happened. Just before the game with Bort's Brigade, I signed a new CB, who had an upper 20's level and then we proceeded to just kill Bort's Brigade. I noticed after the game that our overall rating had changed from 42 to 45. I didn't look or notice what our rating was just prior to the game, so I was wondering if the increase was because we signed the new CB, because we blew out a hapless team, or a combination of both. Does anybody know for sure?

Right after that game my guys all leveled to 24. the 3rd cap, and gained veteran status. It might have had something to do with it too.

Hmmmmmmmmmm...hadn't thought of that. So now we have three things that may have contributed to the increase in our overall ranking.

Does anybody have any inside scoop on how the rating is determined?
