My cheap and dirt, worthless as a 10 cent hooker week 7 rankings of the East
DDL is the obvious choice. They got a huge W over the Shockers today, but one can’t help but wonder how the game would have played out if Young hadn’t tossed the int on their first drive, deep in DDL territory. That said, he did and DDL claimed control of the game on their first drive in quarter 3. DDL gets a bit of a break now (is there really any kind of a break up here anymore?), starting with the skidding Carolina Hammers, before they finish the ssn with a brutal 5 game stretch.
Shockers are without a doubt one of the top teams in the East. Their loss to DDL sure doesn’t change that. Should be 9-1 entering a big rivalry game with GB on week 10.
GB appears to have worked their bugs out and rolling, though an extremely underrated Gamblers team will test that in 2 days. One can make a VERY strong case for the Bullets deserving this spot, but their 2 game skid was my deciding factor.
Bullets dropped 2 in a row, but I do think they have the talent to be here. Cotes, great safes, good D, good run game and one of the best passing games in the East warrant it, IMO
Red Dots are a very tough team that, IMO, had one stolen from them by Cx4.
Cx4 have beat 2 of the teams above them, but the way they beat the Red Dots could ruin their ssn. By passing only 2 times against the Dots, I believe they risk any team with a solid PB not showing them any mercy. That wouldn’t be overly worrisome, except that they only beat the Dots by 6. Catching a team off guard like that (or completely selling out, pick which ever phrase you prefer) and not blowing them out of the water would concern me. Shame, they proved again today that they are an extremely good team at playing dot ball straight up.
Gamblers are honestly at least a 5 or 6 team, IMO. I just can’t justify dropping either above them. Luckily for them, Hazy righted the ship earlier this ssn and most likely will be rewarded with a trip to the POs. Their game against GB in week 8 has me nervous, and rightfully so.
Flyin Es have turned their ssn around with 2 make or break Ws in a row. Add in a win over GB, a winnable game up next and they have clawed their way back into the picture
***O*** is a team that demands respect, regardless of their record. Hurt bad by the shambles of the passing sim Bort has going right now, I’m confident they’ll continue to claw their way back up and be in the POs at the end. They have a bye before a big rivalry game with GB. That one will have a strong influence over both team’s PO positioning
Woodys are a very solid team. The very real possibility that they will be in a dog fight to make the POs speaks volumes to how tough the East is this ssn.
The Hammer are in free fall mode and that likely won’t change soon, with DDL and the Bullets. They simply must win one of those games. If not, the POs are an extreme long shot at best
RI Red Wolves are so damn close it isn’t even funny. I honestly believed that this would be the ssn that they took the step. Unfortunately for them, it looks like they still have a half step to go.
Yotes have always been a second half team. The good news is that they already have DDL and GB out of the way. The bad is that they still have the Bullets and a pissed off Shockers waiting for them. That makes their Cx4 game a must win.
Philadelphia Continentals keep improving each ssn, but they are still 1 great recruiting ssn or 2 good ones away.
Rage made wholesale changes this offssn. Personally, I’ve never bought that chem was a killer and I still don’t. However, I do think their changes will pay off better next ssn, after all the new agents figure out what they need for builds to play at this lvl. Still, don't be surprised if they bite some teams in the ass yet. Frankly, they have to or they're gone.
Mudcats can no longer hangon up here. They just don’t have the dots
