My preference for EQ, is to specialize with it. At the moment, my FB has it all in strength (aside from the +3 stamina that came with his AE). I'm built to be more than a blocker, thus I'm heavily specialized in strength and breaking tackles... I'm sitting at 102 strength, 15 brusier, 15 short yd monster, +19% break tackles and 9 power thru. ATM though, I'm seriously considering changing one piece of EQ over to speed (maybe two pieces), my speed is currently 60. Changing two pieces would drop my strength to ~90 and bump my speed up to ~75.
I, personally, wouldn't split the attributes on a piece of EQ. Although, for AE I usually will... such as str/blk for my ROT, str/agi for my DE and str/blk on my LG. I also like to build an additional piece or two of EQ for an area that my player currently lacks (like agility for my ROT or speed for my FB). This allows some flexibility in your individual game planning. If my ROT is going against a speed rushing LDE, I'll swap my strength EQ out for my agility EQ. I also carry a CE for each skill tree on each player, which can also be swapped depending on match-ups. If you do spend a few dollars on the game, I would suggest doing this... I spend less than $10/mo, so I'm not breaking the bank or anything.
As for bonus tokens, never turn them in for the one skill point and temp +5 boost. You're much better off saving them to upgrade AE. Since the AE will work all the time (even in the play-offs)... besides, there's never such a thing as excess bonus tokens, because you can always work on a second and/or third piece of AE.
What I would do with your FB, is cap agility, then speed at 60 (for the additional level up increases to agility). Transfer the agility EQ over to speed, sell the vision/speed EQ and replace them with a strength EQ slot and a speed EQ slot. Also shop for a decent piece of AE (you want a good SA primarily, the +attribute is merely icing on the cake).
So you should have...
+4 speed
+4 speed
+4 strength (or an AE with +strength upgrades or you can even go strength/speed upgrades)
+4 strength
+6 strength CE
Eventually, once speed is naturally where you want it, you can start transferring those speed EQ pieces to strength.
If you're close to finishing off speed or agility via training, finish them off... otherwise just start training stamina/confidence. Once stamina gets to like 35, you can do confidence/vision or carrying/confidence. You want confidence to the soft cap if possible, but you don't need to spend points on it TBPH.
Once you get speed and agility to the 60, I'd toss a couple points in quick cut (3 or 4 is good). Then it's probably time to take strength or speed to the 3rd cap... it really depends on your philosophy though, do you want to optimize your build or contribute at a high level sooner?
