On with the picks!
1. *Game of the Week* Richmond Empire (6-0) vs. Texas Presidents (4-2).
The Presidents march into Richmond with something to prove. Though the presidents are in the hunt for the remaining home playoff spot they still have yet to prove that they can hang with the best of the East. The Richmond still have yet to face any competition of note and probably wont until the Bobcats roll into town. Yet with all this going on here are the picks, You heard it here first!
Texas 35 Richmond 31.
2. British Columbia Beasters (6-0) vs. Torrington Wildcats (4-2)
Torrington is not quite there yet and they wont be able to hang with BCB’s offense. BCB’s defense the number one D in the league will keep this one from ever getting close.
BCB 60 Torrington 14
3. Frostburg Bobcats (5-1) vs. State College Cyclones (4-2)
State College has quietly started the season with a 4-2 record, but have yet to play any of the tough teams. Frostburg is waiting to play the undefeated to see where they match up in the conference. When its all said and done State College may be battling for one of the last playoff spots but are a season away from contention. Frostburg wins this one easily, improving to their best start in franchise history.
Frostburg 70 State College 6
4. Killians Irish Red (4-2) vs. Minnesota Paladins (0-6)
Killians gets to revenge its loss to the Bobcats with a nice cleanup game against the Paladins. Give Minnesota another season and this game would be competitive. Since its still season 8 Killians wins easily with a beer in each hand.
Killians 45 Minnesota 21
5. Baton Rouge Bayou Bengals (4-2) vs. Texas Tech Big Red Spread (2-4)
A battle of up and comers, this game should be a preview of next season and what to expect out of both these teams. Baton Rouge, is trying to take claim to one of the top spots in the east, while Texas Tech is trying to get back in the race for the final playoff spot. Unfortunately for Texas Tech they wont be able to get back into the win column until next season. These kittens do bite!
BRBB 45 Texas Tech 21
6. Crooklyn Bombers (1-5) vs. Deimon Devil bats (2-4)
Deimon a tough competitor in the Eastern Conference will finally get back on the win side with a romping of the Bombers, Only way Crooklyn pulls this one off is if they bribe the refs.
Deimon 100 Crooklyn 24
7. Alabama Anzacs (0-6) vs. Delray Manatees (2-4)
Delray another competitor in its second season in Da 7 has faced tough competition so far. Look for them to get back on track and get back in the hunt for that final playoff spot.
Delray 60 Alabama 6
8. Pahoa Wild Boars (1-5) vs. Detroit Total Chaos (0-6)
Early indications suggested that this game was going to decide who had the first pick in next seasons draft (that is if we had one). Anyways, since Pahoa upset Texas Tech last week, look for them to make it two in a row and cause Citizens of Detroit to riot once again.
Pahoa 45 Detroit 3.
And that my friends is how the cookie crumbles.
