1) What's the PRACTICAL difference between running on -100 versus running on -95?

2) How important is the SA "Quick Cut" for a power back? What would be examples of times during a game when this would fire if running on -100?

1) No idea, probably very very small. Maybe if you have good Vision and see a FS coming up on you, you might shift your angle slightly to delay contact to try and get an extra yard or two.

2) It probably wouldn't fire very much, you don't make many cuts as a Power HB and the ones you do make will be small, so you wouldn't lose much speed.

1) I don't think there is a difference between -100 and -95.

2) Powerbacks generally don't have that much speed so you need to keep up what speed you have when you change direction. It also helps an HB keep up their speed when they go through the line and powerbacks will be rushing inside a lot.

Quick cut is more useful, I'd say, for moving quickly through the line.

Personally I think its worth getting to 5 or so but I wouldnt invest too many points into it. I put a few points into it on my power back 3 seasons ago and have never needed more since then.

Quick cut seems to have lost efficacy this season, it was pretty sweet last season. I hadn't heard that it helps HB's through the line, thanks for that info Viscount.

I'd say first step might be more valuable than quick cut. If you could get it to fire after a broken tackle, you'd be pretty set.

I'm trying out some new code that affects all players, that I don't know why I haven't tried before:

There's a balance value that's affected by stuff happening - we all know that. However, all it has done in the past is determine when you fall down (reach 0 and you fall down). I've just updated things to adjust the player's max velocity when he is off balance. You gain back balance every tick.

This may head off a potential exploity build of having really high break tackle ability combined with really high first step, where you would break tackles and nearly immediately get back to full speed.

This also would affect other positions, though mostly line play. I.E. a blitzer who gets partially blocked would go off balance and be slowed down until he gained it back.

I guess that suggests it did work, but it might not work as well now. They note that the change went live on "real" GLB on 3/7/09 right after that post even though it isn't in the change log.
