His production is horrible. It doesn't matter if he's on Close/Semi or Close/Aggressive. I've talked to a few people, tried out some of their ideas, but nothing's working.

1st one - just had good jumping & catching.

IMHO you need to get 1st step to 6 & Change Dir to 5+.

Soft coverage - he just had a good route run, and you have to low of change direction & 1st Step to jump back into the play.

I'll 99% guarantee that you will see improvement!

The sp needed to boost 1st step could be better used in other areas

Congratulations though, from those stats he's one of the few corners that are pretty much the same, if not slightly better than my cornerback.

I have ten Vet Points in Ball Hawk, which in the last game bagged me 11 Pass Deflections... could be worth a thought.

I saw the same stopping with my corner a couple times in my last scrim. It looks to be the exact same play.

The opposing team really tore me apart this game.

did you even read ball hawk? it has nothing to do with getting more PD. It sais, *this player has a nose for tipped passes* meaning, the ball is *already* tipped. You get a 1% bonus to speed, agility, jumping and catching, from the moment the ball was deflected *until* the ball is caught or hits the ground.

Ballhawk gives you a bonus to *Catching* Tipped / Deflected balls, it does nothing to *help* you deflect them.

The only way i would think ballhawk would add anything to deflections is if you are using it for the chance to deflect it again, getting the bonus, but i have yet to see a *double* deflection, so i wouldnt bank on it.

If you want more deflections, then you go with *long reach* which adds a 3% chance per level to add a *second* roll if you missed the first deflection check.

I would second getting your COD up and if you can redo you vet points screw long reach and max out track star, quick, and football genius in that order. I noticed improvement just getting my COD from 2 to 4. Another possibility may be SV as well but I'd put COD before it.

Sorry, please ignore me... I don't have Ball Hawk at all! I have 10 Points in Long Reach...

Your D coordinator could have you play back. Up confidence.

With 94 agility (including the Quick bonus), I really need that COD to cut the same as WRs?

I can't redo my vet points. I had maxed Track Star out first, but after talking to a few guys on the team and off, I decided to go Long Reach instead of Track Star. He's been just as bad before and after the swap.

Thanks for the input!

I honestly can;t see why he would be having that many problems. For me though on second looks he does lack a small amount of speed.

I think for a cornerback at that level you need to have speed of around 95 (whether that is through Track Star or EQ, your choice) and agility of 80+

I think your vision is great where it is, and long reach is a good investment.

If it were me I'd put Vet Points into track star from now on and keep going with that to get his speed up. Any skill points, get first step and change direction to at least 4 in each and maybe try pump a few more points into jumping.

Just to compare him, here's my level 50 corner:

First, there isn't anything really wrong with your cb. Your PAs are good and you SAs are good. As with all cbs, there are somethings you can work on (vision and SAs), but nothing that screams for a change.

Second, in regards to your question about whether CD is necessary if you have 90 agility. It can definitely help. CD compliments high agility and can really work wonders once you get it in the 5-6 range. Here's an example play with my cb, Yes Man. http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=372608&pbp_id=2685576 He has 89 agility and 6 CD. You can see how he changes direction on a dime and loses almost no speed. That play up there where you have it labeled scary, I'm pretty sure if you had higher CD you would have stayed with the wr because you wouldn't lose much speed when trying to keep up with his cuts.

Third, in regards to how to change those near-PDs to PDs. First you have to understand that sometimes your cb just won't hit his roll, no matter how good the coverage is. You are probably going against pretty decently built wrs and qbs, so that will just happen; sometimes the offense gets to make the play. Now if you want to try and up your chance to make the play more often, I'd say SDC and swat ball. Both give a bonus to PDs, so if you can get SDC to 7 and SB to 6 or 7, you should push your chances up to make those PDs.

Fourth. Even though your question is how to turn those near-PDs into PDs, and SB and SDC go into that more than CD, I'd still put points into CD first. It will help you keep with your man better which equals less passes thrown your way, and you are closer to either make a PD or a tackle (preventing tds). My suggestion is to bring it to 6.

Also, make sure you are always on semi-aggressive. I've tried out aggressive in two scrimmages this season and it still sucks.
