Here is my stab at the preseason power rankings for the Eastern Conference.
Basing it all on player levels for each team's starters and backups, here is how the Eastern teams are ranked.
#1 Victoria Teabaggers
#2 Knights of the Dark Realm
#3 Thundertown Brawlers
#4 San Diego SkyRockets
#5 Emmaus Hornets
#6 Yancy Street Grimm Reapers
#7 BroadStreetBullies BSB
#8 Tombstone Widowmakers
#9 Wilburton Wombles
#10 Washington Caps
#11 Mtown Maniax
#12 Montana Giant Zombie Bear
#13 New York Grizzlies
#14 Raleigh Avengers
#15 Orleans Gamecocks
#16 Lund Fiskdonks
Just like the way I ranked their Western counterparts, the above rankings are based on each team's player level on both the starters and backups. As we all know a team loaded with level 30ish to 40ish players already has the inside track into winning their matches.
Here is how I group the teams above:
Elite
Victoria Teabaggers
- One of the top ranked teams last season is probably back to dominate the league. They're right now even with 3 WRs is stronger than the nearly elite teams below. They're not as strong as the elite team in the west but they're definitely strong enough to dominate the East.
Almost Elite
Thundertown Brawlers, Knights of the Dark Realm, San Diego SkyRockets, Emmaus Hornets
- These teams are a pretty strong group that can almost join the Teabaggers as the conference's elite team(s). These teams have really good talent at all starting spots but there are a couple of places where each team's starting player is a bit suspect (i.e. starting a level 11?). If these teams fills up those spots with a player with a pretty good level (i.e. level 27 to 35) then they can join the Teabaggers.
Middle of the road
Yancy Street Grimm Reapers, BroadStreetBullies BSB , Tombstone Widowmakers, Wilburton Wombles, Washington Caps
- Surprisingly one of the playoff teams are on this group (Yancy Street). Only reason these guys are on this group is due to their lack of player level BUT this doesn't mean that they can't pull of wins. Take note that I said "wins" and not "upsets". As proven by the Grimm Reapers, these teams with the proper game plan can pull off those pretty good wins against the conferences' elite teams.
Bottom of the pile
Mtown Maniax, Montana Giant Zombie Bear, New York Grizzlies, Raleigh Avengers, Orleans Gamecocks, Lund Fiskdonks
- Just like their Western brothers, these teams will have to break the bank to compete. No way these teams can win against the teams above their group (that is unless the Caps can get someone to play SS/FS).
