Based on 2 people so far...

Receiving TE

1 Route run
2 Quick cut
3 Sticky hands
4 Lower the shoulder
5 Coverup

Blocking TE

1 Run block
2 Get low
3 Pass block
4 Hands
5 Pancake

Balanced TE (maybe ill do this later)

First of all..my opinion for AE gear is that the best ones have an SA on them. Now that being said i want to make a list of what people think the best ones are and what order they are. Just put a +1 or a -1 next to them and add an explanation below if ya want. After a while it will be pretty well setup. (ya we could just start them all even and go from there but i dont think im that far off on most of them.

Ill start with my list and adjust it as we go.

Edit moved it to the top

Explanations
- Route run, bonus to speed and agi is awesome, more speed more agi each level is insane

- Quick cut, i like it not so much for making tacklers miss but for getting open to catch passes

- Lower the shoulder, quite often you catch the ball behind the D-line and LBs so you only have to run over CBs and safeties

- Run block, Most pass plays you are going out for passes so run block is better and most run plays it seems are successful to the TE's side

- Hands, make the other guy tired? im all for that.

- Get low. Make running the ball better? good ability, would be great but your just a TE not an O-lineman

- Sticky hands, catching the ball more is great but this isnt needed all that badly.

- Pass block, most pass plays you go out for a pass but those few that you do stay home you might as well be useful

- Pancake, Rarely strong enough to pancake someone so this wont help much

- Cover up, you are really worried about that 1-2 fumbles a season to waste a bunch of skill points into THIS!?!?!

first of all it depends on what type of build you have. The list order would vary greatly for blocking vs. receiving TE

Agreed. Might be better to make two lists, one receiving and one blocking.

Still a good list. What do you think of stiff arm for a receiving TE?

I cant claim to be much of a fan of the SA's that arent base for TEs because the most you will ever see from them is a 4 really. Getting something you already have gives you a MUCH better skill to work with.

I agree with the blocking/passing one. Maybe we can do it that way..ill change the OP to that.

I would say Pancake is a #2, behind Run Block for blockers. Besides the morale loss Pancake gives the defender, you're taking that player out of the play so you can proceed to the next defender and help block that one.

well I might change my mind on another day, but here's my best sense if I had to put them in order. And I think TEs should be focused and basically ignore the other tree, at least for a loooong time.

Receiving TE

1 Route run - first important thing is to get open, boosts 2 most important attributes and is always on
2 Sticky hands - then you need to catch it; extra bonus in clutch situations
3 Quick cut - complements #1, also helps with YAC
4 Lower the shoulder - YAC comes after catching, and more expensive
5 Coverup - I haven't seen TEs fumbling as a big factor (could always change as bort tweaks the game)

Blocking TE

1 Get low - "very important" as opposed to the next two which are just important
2/3 Run block/Pass block - depends on strategy emphasis of your team's offense
4 Pancake - good but is it worth the extra cost? overrated because it is the only oline stat?
5 Hands - at least this is worth something now, and we'll have to see how valuable it is. if some players put some points there we can watch the relative energy level of the defenders they face...

I can see that argument for pancake, but one factor is that when teams are pretty evenly matched it only happens a few times a game (for the whole team, and some of those are on ST), whereas I think the other ones are giving a bonus on every play. so I'm just not sure it's worth the extra cost.

I like your way of doing it..i think ill adjust the OP again with your style if just ranking the 5. Also adjusting the numbers a tad based on your "votes" vs mine. Yours will only change mine by one at the most but everyones will affect "mine" so after time it will be what the consensus is.

Does Power Through work for a TE? I found a piece and I'm wondering if it would be a good item to buy.

I'd really like to get a jump catch, one handed catch, or diving catch SA for my receiving TE.

It works well at higher levels for RBs/FBs. I guess the only limiting factor would be that if you have only one AEQ piece with that item on it, you're going to have only a +4 at it and I'm not sure how often it will trigger at that number.

With all of that said, I'd surely be tempted to try it out, particularly if you catch the ball a couple of times or more a game.

Diving Catch Blows - I have 4 in it right now and have noticed NOTHING. Jumping or 1-handed catch might work though.

The only problem I would see is that you normally don't have any momentum to power through with. As a TE, the big issue is breaking tackles within a yard or 3 after the catch, generally.
